Magnifique maison
Publié le 20 avr. 2022 sur HomeAwayNous avons passé une très belle semaine dans cette (très, très) grande maison aux abords du lac de Côme. La maison correspond parfaitement au descriptif de l'annonce et comporte tous les équipements nécessaires pour passer un bon séjour. La piscine est également très grande et la vue est juste splendide. Le seul petit bémol réside dans les règles un peu strictes concernant le check-in (mais les propriétaires sont au final très arrangeants). Nous avons passé une excellente semaine !

A week at Villa Ornella - a family with 3 young boys
Publié le 16 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayIf you are looking at visiting the Lake Como area with your kids, or other families, I strongly recommend Mandello and Villa Ornella. The layout of the house is great, the size perfect to accommodate 2 or even 3 families and Furio was a great host. It was just me and my wife and our 3 young (and restless) boys and we had a great time. The pool and the living room with the amazing veranda were perfect family entertainment areas. The location is great as well - Mandello is close to everything yet not as crowded as other more "touristy" locations around the lake. The town's waterfront is great with a good number of nice, kid-friendly, restaurants and other attractions. Strongly considering going back again!

Beautifully located villa
Publié le 21 sept. 2023 sur HomeAwayThis was the second time, we stayed at this villa (group of friends) and it probably won't be the last time. The villa is beautifully located with a view of the lake and the surrounding mountains and wonderful sunsets in the evening. The rooms in the upper floor are great and we enjoyed the pool and the billard table a lot.
The only thing we did not like are the rooms downstairs (will only ve available if booked for more than 8 people). While the rooms themselves are old but fine, the bathroom was relatively dirty. The ventilation smells like excrements so we never turned it on. This lead to the whole downstairs floor to be very damp and warm. Also, the water in the shower sometimes smelled and the water was way too hot most of the times. So, please renovate the downstairs bathroom. Other than that, this villa is perfect!

Thank you for your stay at Villa Ornella. We are happy that you had a good time. We thank you for the advice and we have already checked the bathroom systems. The problem in the bathroom had never been encountered before as you can see from previous reviews. Following our inspection, we found that the shower drain had not been properly replaced by our cleaning staff and this was the cause of the odors. We're sorry about what happened and to not being informed during your stay, as we could have resolved the problem promptly. We hope to welcome you again in the future!

Family vacation

If you don’t have a vehicle, do NOT stay here!
The bus picks up at 7 and 9:45 am, there is no return bus. There are no taxis, but there is a private car service… not always available.
Two days we were stuck in the house with no way to get to town or restaurants. There is one hotel that is impossible to walk to unless you are a hiker..even the 18-28 year olds would not attempt the walk after seeing it from the private cars. It was extremely hot there last week and not enough fans for all bedrooms and living areas.

Publié le 11 juin 2023 sur HomeAwayWir waren mit 10 Personen - 3 Generationen - für eine Woche in der Villa Ornella und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Viel Platz, Zimmer und Bäder sehr ordentlich, Einrichtung gut, sehr schöne Aussicht, toller Pool, ungestört
Check-in und out sehr freundlich und korrekt.
Empfehlenswert!

What a View!
Publié le 26 avr. 2023 sur HomeAwayWe celebrated a major family milestone by all meeting up at the Villa. Family came in from India, Zurich, Lugano and Los Angeles. We all had cars and there is covered parking for three cars and space to park even more. The property is really nice and on multiple floors. They're trying to preserve the villa as is to keep the originality so some things look a little dated but they all work amazingly well. The checkin process was very helpful in setting the expectations and making sure we know what to do. This is family run and operated and they're very helpful. We never needed to call them but they were always available. The game room and the main living room/sun room was where we spent a lot of our time. but we also enjoyed exploring the city and the area. It's a great location. 45 mins from Milan!
The views specially from the sun room are just incredible. A lot of the bedrooms also have windows that overlook the lake. It's a short 5 minute drive to the Ferry terminal and there are incredible restaurants in town too. And to top it all there is the Moto Guzzi museum which is a must see! We took up the recommendation from Aldo of using the central lake ferry system that allowed us to get to Bellagio for the day which was incredible. there's a great park on the waterfront too for the kids (and us adults). We had an incredible time. Thank you Villa Ornella. Wish the pool was open too but we'll save that for next time!

Sehr geräumiges Haus mit Seeblick, netter Gastgeber

Obwohl ein Familienteil erst später eintreffen konnte, war das Einchecken am Nachmittag mit Ausweiskopien möglich. Unsere Jugendlichen haben besonders das Billardzimmer geliebt, es gibt aber auch sonst viel Platz zum Spielen überall und zum Essen in der großen, gut ausgestatteten Küche. Was uns nicht so gut gefallen hat: Die Zimmer im Untergeschoß und dass Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Restaurants nur nach längerem steilem Weg an der Straße oder mit dem Auto zu erreichen waren.

We take this opportunity to remind all guests that on Italian territory, the delivery of the document is mandatory for registration with the state police. As this is a holiday home, therefore without a reception, this must be done at check-in.
As can be seen from the photos, the villa is located in a predominant position with respect to the town center (which is 2 km away). At 250 m from the villa there is a bus stop that leads directly to the town center (as indicated on our website). The rooms mentioned have some classic furniture in Baroque and Venetian style usually very popular with customers. In any case, we try to improve the equipment and services of the villa from year to year by collecting suggestions from guests. We will evaluate the possible improvements to be made while maintaining the historical identity. Thankyou

Topweek in geweldig verblijf

Comfort, ruimte en geweldig zwembad.
Alleen de incheckprocedure zorgde voor problemen omdat vereist werd dat alle gasten tegelijk zouden inchecken terwijl er 3 families van 3 verschillende lokaties kwamen met verschillende problemen (verkeer, medische behandeling) Als huurder en hoofd van de familie moesten we van 4 uur tot na 7 uur wachten voordat we erin konden.
