Over the years, I have relied on the Novotel to offer me a hassle-free check-in whenever I "come home" to the Philippines. You can always rely on their superb, efficient, welcoming staff to provide you with a comfortable first-night stay after a grueling 36-hour trip covering four airports. It is with this knowledge that despite my annoyance (exacerbated by my disabled wife's discomfort) at the bungled check-in, where I was asked to pay for a prepaid Expedia reservation and had to wait for three hours to get our room, I still rated my stay close to excellent. Despite the initial confusion, the young front desk lady did recover to check with her supervisor and reverse the double charge on my credit card. The 3-hour wait, however, is clearly a training issue. The FD Supervisor, Jhoanna, came out to apologize for the wait and had us check into a room right away. From there, the outstanding concierge, housekeeping, and breakfast staff provided us with the usual excellent service we've come to expect from Novotel. This hotel has always been an easy 5-star rating for me. It would have been the same this year but for the less-than-stellar check-in.

Everytime we’re on our Philippine vacation, we always go for Novotel. The staff are friendly and very accommodating. I did appreciate it so much when they allowed us to checked in early without extra cost and upgraded to a Deluxe Room. Thank you Novotel, we will always come back with you.

Property started bad as they had an incident on a floor that impeded us from getting into our rooms, and start resting on a long flight. They ushered us into a nearby property that was decent but was not “par” with Novotel. Staff were all accommodating and pleasant, but it wasn’t what we expected. Audrey and all the other ground crew was amazing in assisting. One of the duty manager even offered us a complimentary dinner for the trouble. What set this whole scenario apart was when Gab (Asst FM) assisted us and expressed genuine concern that backed up everything that they were apologizing for. Offered us luggage assistance thru and thru. Offered a discount on laundry service and other small things that otherwise be problematic. His attention to detail was simply spectacular and even had our luggage assistance readily available as we checked out early for our shuttle to a domestic flight. Overall, Gab made all the difference as he upgraded us to a 1BR executive suite, that otherwise no one would’ve done. Now that’s how you back up a sincere apology. Future congratulations to you Gab! I know you are on your way up! Keep making an impact and a difference to all your guests. My family and I thank you very much for your hospitality.
