Pleasant, convenient, with friendly service

La Vida Guesthouse is to be recommended. When I arrived in the evening, everything was ready for a quick check-in. I was travelling, so it was just an overnight stay, leaving again early the next morning. They only started serving breakfast after I would have left, so they agreed to prepare a take-away breakfast pack for me. It was ready when I left at 5:30am. The rooms are spacious, clean. They have good WiFi, have coffee making facilities and a small fridge in the room. All in all, I would recommend it, especially for travellers looking for a convenient place for an overnight stay.

Good Value for the Money

Charming guest house. Nothing fancy, but clean and functional. Except the internet. The WiFi did not work at night, which caused me major problems. The area is good. The staff are nice.

What a surprise!

Mariental is a bit of a scruffy town, but makes up for it with lovely people. Several are to be found at this guest house. My room/suite was big, comfortable and spotless. TV showed loads of channels, a/c worked well etc. So break your journey here. You wont be disappointed

Nice roomy old house that could have potential.

Booked and paid online about two months previously but we were told they had no record of it when we arrived. Showed the receipt and had to repeat three times that we had already paid. The girl consulted the owner by Phone and we were allowed to check in. We were promised a room + kitchen but were given just a smallish room instead. That whole process took 45 mins. At breakfast the next morning, the same conversation with a different person - we were told we had not paid for breakfast. Another phone call with (presumably) the owner, eventually given breakfast. The actual property is a nice old house (situated near a truck stop) and has potential but the quality of service was not up to scratch.

Convenient location before heading to Sesriem.

Pour : Spacious rooms; milk in the fridge.
Contre : The tap water is drinkable, but does not taste good. You can buy drinking water in a nearby gas station.
Emplacement : Sesriem is about 5 - 6 hours drive from this B&B in Mariental.
I am very glad we stayed in this B&B. It is a perfect base for starting your trip towards Sesriem, that could take 5 - 6 hours, mostly on a rough road. We had a whole apartment - a bedroom with a powerful aircon, very spacious bathroom with both bath and a shower, kitchen with satellite TV, and a private shaded parking space. A perfect place to relax before or after a long journey.

Sauberes Gästehaus, freundliches Personal.

Pour : Großes Zimmer mit Küche, gut für Selbstversorgung.
Contre : Beschreibung für Auffinden. War nicht einfach zu finden.
Emplacement : Hotel liegt am Ortsrand, einzige Attraktion ist der Hardap Dam.
Freundliches Personal. Sauber. Keine Beanstandungen. Es wäre besser gewesen, wenn das Auffinden des Gästehauses leichter gewesen wäre.
