The owners did masterful work restoring this home yet paid so much attention in providing up-to-date amenities that people have come to expect. Every convenience was thought of and there were wonderful treats and surprises at every turn. I particularly enjoyed their love of the Hudson River School and all of the lovely artwork represented from room to room. Local history is honored in the house and their knowledge of it is vast.

Charming, warm and luxurious

The inn is absolutely charming as are the innkeepers. We were made to feel very comfortable and the innkeepers made us feel at home. They took us on a tour of the inn and explained it’s history as well as history of the region. The furnishings and linens were beautiful and high quality. Our bed was super comfortable and the bathroom was very modern. Breakfast was delicious and locally sourced. We will be back!

We asked to have breakfast 15 minutes earlier just on our first day in order to arrive at our class in time. Boy! Did that press Mr. Cool’s buttons! This set a very uncomfortable, inhospitable tone for our stay. At one point he even made a derogative comment about us coming from Long Island. I would never return to this inn. Nor would I recommend it.

We are sorry these two individuals did not enjoy their stay at our B&B. They had lots of forewarning., Meryl and, more specifically her silent partner here, Angi, were informed in three separate emails before arrival and in one additional phone call what our breakfast hours are and what our protocols are. They fail to acknowledge those facts in their review.. They were further informed in advance of their arrival that we had asked the local painting workshop with which they were affiliated during their stay to take us off their lodging list; their scheduling conflicts with our hours of operation. These guests chose to come anyway. We happily welcome guests from all over the country and around the world, and we treat everyone equally. At a small inn with limited staffing, we cannot and do not make all kinds of exceptions

Local artwork in every room, access to almost the entire house, and amazing yard and garden to enjoy. Linda and Ken were wonderful hosts and the breakfasts were terrific. Visiting both was like being given a tour of the entire region.

Great stay at the Danskammer!

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Danskammer House. Our room was clean and comfortable, the house was beautiful and well-kept inside and out. The hosts were friendly and knowledgeable about the area, and the breakfast and tea were delicious. We would gladly recommend this B&B to anyone visiting the Hudson River Valley.
