Publié le 27 août 2024 sur HomeAwayOur 22 year old was killed in an accident in 2021, the grief made my husband the 9th person to be diagnosed with a disease that left him totally disabled. This was our first outing without him and it was hard, but everything was perfect and we had an amazing time with my husband watching the barges go by and my grandson fishing, the casino gave me an outlet I have not had for 3 years. This was part of our healing process with my other two amazing adult children and my grandson and it was totally relaxing with the grief baggage that we carry. Thank you so much for the amazing home from home with all the amenities of home! We appreciate you!

There’s something about the river. Everyone deserves an escape and I personally love the river for this reason. Life can be hard and watching the barges go by, fishing off the dock, the sunrises and sunsets can all feel like therapy. Just the much needed opportunity to get family and friends together can be so good for the soul.
Thank you for the privilege of being part of your healing and there is nothing that makes me happier than hearing you all had an amazing time.
Your review will be added to the ones I save and hold dear for when I need a little reminder why we put in the work and do what we do.

We are so happy to know you enjoyed the cabin! The trains can be a bummer but knowing tracks typically run along the river it seems to be a trade off that's worth it to get that true riverfront experience! It also can make for quite the experience and story to be right in the action of it all!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time on the deck (river front), the tiki hut for coffee & cocktails, the waterside firepit, and the indoors as well (spacious, clean & inviting). It was a great kitchen/living room for eating, drinking, conversation & games - with a wonderful view of the Mississippi out the wall of windows. We also enjoyed the winery (walkable) & Maiden Voyage boat tour, Pike's Peak & Effigy Mounds. Thank You!

Great House
Publié le 22 avr. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe property met all of our expectations. The host responded to our inquiries immediately & was wonderful to work with. Our only disappointment was that the weather didn't allow for us to use the outside deck & amenities. Our group of 9 ladies made great use of the large island & dining table. Beds were comfortable & the house was very clean. The posting advises about the trains which are literally right behind the house so bring earplugs for sleeping. Our only suggestion is the house could use a 2nd water heater. We learned the hard way on day 1 that we had to limit to 3 showers within a short time. After that we staggered the showers throughout the day. Our group would definitely return to this property!

Enjoy the view
Publié le 14 avr. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe waterfront view is beautiful. The lodge is large and clean with accurate pictures. Please note, train tracks run directly behind and along the property with frequent trains blowing whistles running day and night. Sometimes the train stopped on the tracks along the property so we were unable to leave until the train moves. There are few things to do in the local community so we drove to other towns. Overall, it was an enjoyable time with our family of adults.

I'm so glad to hear you and your family found the view beautiful and the lodge accommodating. Thank you for the information on the train stopping on the tracks and blocking the entrance. Luckily there is an alternate entrance on Water Street in front of the Marina that shouldn’t be blocked for those coming and going.
We are thrilled you were able to make the most of the surrounding community as the local river towns have a great deal of shopping, restaurants, museums, outdoor and local attractions we would not want you to miss!

Great view
