Wonderful place to stay, relax and really unwind into Fiji time! We had such a relaxing stay at Waitui basecamp, we were sorry to leave. We got to know the team and learnt plenty about village life and had some great experiences - from collecting geges (small clams) for dinner, visiting the local school and village to kayaking to a nearby beach and eating mangoes straight from the tree. Afternoons reading and snoozing in the hammocks ensured we really rested and left city stresses behind. We met and made friends with other guests, and had a great laugh with everyone. The team held a traditional lovo/ kava night where we had a feast on the beach and sang and laughed together all night. If you want a genuine down to earth experience then we would highly recommend waitui as a wonderful break away. Tui cooked us amazing fresh meals with lots love, and the team would even bring your lunch out to you if you were spending the day away on Blue Lagoon beach - we felt very spoilt! Will definitely return

the most authentic Fiji experience you could have.
Food is caught the same day and cooked and there is maybe only 10 people on the island including staff. The staff are viillagers and are fantastic - we already miss them!
Be aware though each meal - regardless of what you eat (even if it is just a bowl of cereal) is $50 each which is very expensive considering you are sleeping on a mattress in a tent, have only a cold shower from a mountain spring and there is no beach.

Amazing stay in Paradise
Publié le 20 oct. 2018 sur ExpediaOur favourite place to stay in the Yasawas. Relaxed and generous staff, in paradise! Lots of activities both free and paid for. Lovely room and very good food. We hope to return again!

Better Value elsewhere
Publié le 5 sept. 2018 sur HotelsNice to have a little wifi, but the grounds were pretty disappointing. The tide was out most of our stay so not much to do without getting on a boat.

Highlight of the Yasawa Islands
Publié le 7 juill. 2018 sur ExpediaMy friend and I stayed one night in a glamping tent at Waitui base camp and my one regret is that we didn’t stay longer. I loved everything about our stay. The staff treat you like family and are happy to share as much or as little of their life with you as you want. There are so many activities to chose from- spear fishing, coconut demos, village visits, school visits, farm visits, island medicine talks, bonfires, volleyball, kayaking, snorkeling... and many of them are free! The food is spectacular. For dinner we ate fish caught by other guests on their fishing trip, and for lunch we ate papaya picked by other guests on their farm trip. So fresh and delicious! There is a resort fee payable on checkout to cover the cost of meals and I do recommend bringing cash if you’re interested in buying souvenirs on excursions.
