A cozy cabin snuggled in the mountains minutes away from Lost River State Park.

Our cabin "Harmony Oaks" is perched at the top of Snyder's Ridge surrounded by quiet wooded hollows. Located just 2 hours from Northern Virginia (DC) and 3 hours from Baltimore, MD this cozy cabin is perfect for those who love to hunt, fish, kayak, hike, or just relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of nature. Our cabin is minutes away from Lost River State Park where you will find numerous outdoor adventures such as, hiking trails, a beautiful swimming pool, horseback riding, and biking.

Hunt or fish? Enjoy fishing at local areas such as Trout Pond with its beautiful sandy beach and swim area, Kimsey Run Dam, and Warden Lake. For the hunting enthusiast, check out the Monongahela National Forest and George Washington National Forest. If you enjoy primitive hunting, Wilson's Cove Wildlife Management Area is the perfect location as they only allow muzzle loading and archery hunting. There is no hunting or shooting allowed on our property.

When you are in the mood for comfort food, The Home Place and Lost River Grill have that cozy small town atmosphere with fantastic food and service.

Our cabin comfortably sleeps 5 people in our 2 bedrooms, one full and one twin, and sleeper sofa. Whether you enjoy cooking in the kitchen, sitting at the table surfing the free wifi, or relaxing on the couch watching the flat screen TV our open living space will allow for great interaction between all guests. Our interior is cozy and rustic with approximately 650 square feet of living space. If you need more space, then grill out and relax on the 18X10 screened porch or the 10X14 covered deck.

During your stay at Harmony Oaks we provide you with toilet paper, paper towels, basic cleaning supplies, dish soap, basic kitchen utensils, basic dish-ware, hand soap and sanitizer, bed linens, bath towels, shampoo and conditioner, coffee pot, propane for outdoor grill. and firewood for outdoor fire-pit.

***Please note that Bryce Ski Resort is approximately 35 miles away from our cabin. The VRBO location attraction estimate of 7.5 miles is incorrect.

***Please be courteous while driving to and from the property as there are full time residents who are sensitive to the speed limit. Also during inclement weather the road may be inaccessible for periods of time. This is a mountain cabin and we have no control over the weather or road conditions. During periods of extreme cold temperatures in the single digits, the water supply to the entire neighborhood could freeze leaving all the homes in the neighborhood without water. Bringing extra water is recommended. Please keep this in mind when booking in the winter months. If the cabin is inaccessible due to snow, ice or poor road conditions we are not obligated to give an automatic refund. We will do our best to work with you on rescheduling.

We were looking for a relaxing weekend away and got exactly what we wanted! The property is beautiful, quiet, and within 15 mins of great food and hiking trails. The owners left an information folder that has everything you would need for food reccomendations, emergency contacts, and how to operate items around the property. I cant wait to stay here again!

We came down to race the Lost River Gravel Grinder. this cabin was back in the scenic woods in a quiet setting, but we were only 0.6 miles from the start of the race and only several miles from stores and the state park. Perfect location yet feels like you are hidden away. It made for a great weekend.

Great weekend away!
The cabin was clean and comfortable. The check in was easy with a lock box on site. All linens, dishes, shampoo/conditioner/soap were provided. The kitchen had all the basics (pots, pans, bowls, plates, utensils, and even some spices were available. We did a lot in the area from easy trail hiking with our dog just down the road at Lost River Park, to swimming at the beach at Trout Pond. We had great drinks and lunch outside at Farmers Market and yummy wood fired pizza down the street at Provisions Lost and Found restaurant. We will definitely book again! Helpful tip- for throwing away the trash at the end of the stay there is a brown bin at the very end of the shared gravel drive where the residents throw away their garage bags.

Incredibly quiet and tranquil mountain cabin. Cozy, no-frills, comfortable. You can stay plugged in if you like — satellite TV, WiFi — or unplug and enjoy getting away from it all. I did a little of both every day. Recommended!

Peaceful small family cabin retreat with access to many local restaurants, parks and activities. Secluded enough, but close enough to civilization if you needed anything. The cabin was clean and the fire pit was perfect to entertain our kids with s’mores and conversation.
