Location was good for exploring Matlock Bath. Concept of accommodation was good, however room layout and facilities would benefit from some changes EG size and location of TV and layout of bathroom. Cleanliness leaves something to be desired.

Cute
Was small and cute, but reception was a mile away from the cabin, not good for people on foot purely for people with cars

Liked: Staff & service, room comfort
Had a lovely stay. Theme rooms are lovely. Bit noisy with guests above us walking passed but nice location & memories made.
We were pleasantly surprised with Gulliver's Kingdom since we have never heard of it. For a really great price we had a lovely 2 nights in the princess-themed room with amazing views of Matlock Bath. There were activities in the evening for the kids. They absolutely loved it
Stayed in the pirate themed room and there was a terrible smell in the room. Everytime we left and returned it hit you as you walked in. Dont know if it was stale cigarette, damp or a mixture of both.
Clean on the surface but very very dusty and dirty if you look closely. Left a drink on the side for a short will and the dust from the bedside light had dropped and was floating on the top.
Moved the bed looking for the wifes earing and there was so much crap amongst the thick layer of dust under there. Including a tv remote if one was lost (room 1), wipes, pencil crayons and pop bottle lid.
The balcony was covered in leafs and debri from the trees.
There isnt any shops in Matlock bath so if you need anything make sure you take it with you. 4 tea bag for a room of 4 for 2 nights wasn't going to cut it.
For £319.70 it was very overpriced
Stayed in pirate room and was brilliant m, kids loved the theme and nice and clean

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
We stayed in a pirate room which was about the size of a Premier Inns room and is made of converted shipping container
The whole experience was more about theme than content
We assumed wrongly from the description that we would have limited catering facilities in reality we had a kettle a microwave and a very very small fridge plus 5 mugs. We had to go to reception to ask for basic crockery and cutlery, there was nothing to use in the microwave. The write up said we would get daily maid service which never happened.
The staff did there best with a tied outdated offering - shame
Great check in & parking. Cabins opposite reception very convenient. Quirky room( ours was Pirate themed).large clean Bathroom.
Balcony was quite slippery,( no safety signs) water scalding hot (there is a warning sign) bunk beds too small for older teenagers.
Cheap and cheerful, great for kids especially the bunk bed setup. Staff were helpful and welcoming just the surrounding area is in need of updating and modernization. Would return based on our daughter really enjoying it.
We couldn’t believe how lovely our room was and how close it was for exploring the town - we had an amazing time in Matlock and our accommodation was a major part of our rating. We will definitely be going there again and have already recommended it to our family and friends.
Fairly basic room (made from a shipping container) but really quite functional, clean and comfortable. The bar/reception and kids entertainment area was smaller than I expected (compared to Gulliver's Valley in Rotherham), but it was pleasant and sociable, the staff were really friendly, and the kids enjoyed the entertainment. And the theme park is great, plenty to do, lovely surroundings. Food a bit basic but decent options in the main hotel restaurant. Even more basic with fewer options in the theme park (and nothing healthy).
We stayed in the new Willows block, which was really lovely. It still feels very new and was very clean - and the bed was very comfortable. My daughter was over the moon with her bunk bed over the main double bed, which was such a lovely touch. All the staff we met were so friendly and when I booked I hadn’t realised there would be entertainment in the evening. There were games/a disco on from 7pm, marshmallow toasting (although you have to buy a bag of marshmallows to take part) from 8pm and a film was put on for the kids from 9pm, which was the Lion King when we were there. The only downside was there was nowhere to buy breakfast from (and very limited options in the theme park if you go on to spend the day there). The bathroom was also very small, which didn’t bother me because it had everything we needed but I can imagine larger guests might have an issue.
