great place to stay
Publié le 28 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwaylarge townhome very comfortable for 8 of us, well-stocked kitchen, great communication with questions, check in process, etc., king bed is super comfy, cousins has fun sleeping in bunk bed room together, gas grill worked perfectly. and best of all, during the week the lake is dead which made our wake surfing and boarding, and anchoring with lily pad very enjoyable, we were also able to get a slip at the marina (but, beware they will not call you back if you try to reserve beforehand; we got it when we arrived, luckily they had a few open spots) Cons: TV in living room was small which made it tough to watch the olympics at night, no great view of the lake from the living room

Overall a great stay
Publié le 21 août 2023 sur HomeAwayWe vacationed around the dells and found this to be a great location. It was about a 30 minute drive from the Dells. It’s a quiet and peaceful area right on the water (no beach access directly on property but a short walk to). There is some places near by to rent boats. The beach area has the softest sand we have ever felt.
Overall, our stay was great. We did have some concerns that the sheets were not clean. There was some crusty yellow stuff on one set of sheets and the other was just in general dirty. We also were surprised that for a house that lists it could accommodate up to 12, it didn’t supply bigger dishes for large meals, seating in the living room only fits 4 and the kitchen table only seats 6 but others can sit at the island if need be.
Closet in master room is locked so no where for hang up clothes unless borrowing a closet from other rooms.
Property manager did not need to be contacted during our stay but we had great communication leading up to our stay. We did not have an issue with internet during our stay. It would be nice if there was some activities for the house (such as yard games, additional board games, lake floaters). Overall it was nice.

Not worth the price

They do not provide shampoo, soap for in the shower/bath (unless you want to use liquid hand soap), coffee, facial tissues or beach towels. I have not stayed at a rental property before that did not provide these basic amenities. Because we flew with carry-on bags only, space was limited in our luggage.
The grounds around the townhome were not well-kept--lots of overgrown grass and weeds. Things seemed relatively clean inside but there were wrappers on the floor in the master bedroom, and coffee grounds and coffee in the coffee pot from the previous renter. The development that the town home was in was eerily quiet (even on the Saturday we were there.) The on-site restaurant (which does not get very good reviews) was closed during the week and the pool is not open to renters. The beach was deserted. The setting is pretty in the trees with views of the lake, but the best view is from the master bedroom balcony. The patio downstairs has only a round log table with benches and a grill. There were two folding lawn chairs and one beach chair in the garage, which we planned to use to watch the sunset--but then realized the beautiful sunset pictures on the site are actually pictures of the sunrise which, in July, beams directly onto the bed in the master bedroom. There was just an overall atmosphere of "hanging on" and doing the minimum to get by. I would not stay again. Way overpriced for what you get.

Publié le 28 juill. 2023 sur HomeAwayThe property was very nice and convenient to the highway but pictures misrepresented access to the lake from the house. While it is lake facing there is a major drop from the yard to the lake which creates no access to swim. However, there is a beach nearby.
Back yard is shared with neighbors who have 2 very large dogs staked out there and gives limited access for kids to play.

Family Vacation
Publié le 20 juin 2023 sur HomeAwayWe enjoyed our stay on Castle Rock Lake. The County Park next door is awesome. The beach is really nice, and the facilities are very clean. The home was very spacious and a great location. We hope to visit again in the near future
