North Cascades Family Vaca
Publié le 24 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayGreat cabin in a secluded little neighborhood at the foot of north cascades. Had everything we needed to cook dinner and relax in the wilderness. It was extremely hot and the cabin would get very warm thru the nights (only one window air conditioner on the second floor). But I think that the 90’s temps were the exception in this area. We enjoyed our stay and all went great at the property. Try the salted baguettes at the mazama store!!

Peacefully starting the New Year❣️
Publié le 5 janv. 2024 sur HomeAwayOur second time here did not disappoint. We came here with our surviving dog to unplug from the hard year that was 2023. Peaceful falling snow on our walks, cozy warm cabin that lacks for nothing, Netflix and snacks = 3times’ a charm. We’ll be back.

Nice location, suited our adventure travels, yet home needs maintenance.
Publié le 29 oct. 2023 sur HomeAwayIt was comfortable for our needs, yet there were a few issues that I wouldn't have expected for the price. The fans and upper walls/ceiling were so dusty I couldn't turn them on to circulate the heat from the wood stove. There were bare walls, picture hangers without any art hanging so lacked personality. Also, looks like the hot water heater was replaced, yet the old one was left under the kitchen counter with a hole looking straight into the wall. Not very appealing to look at while you're cooking. It did seem like they've done their best to block of access from the exterior yet there was a mouse running around the house...This being said, Packwood is a beautiful area and we thoroughly enjoyed our vacation.

Hmmm … admittedly, I am a bit surprised by your review and I feel it necessary to comment.
Cleanliness - your comments about excessive dust preventing our ceiling fan from working is grossly exaggerated. Never has this been an issue and isn’t an issue. I believe you may have had difficulty pulling the ceiling fan chain or you didn’t see it.
Bare walls/lack of personality - In 20 years you are the first person to mention this.
Hot water heater - yes, the old one is there and we cannot remove it until we remodel the kitchen. That project is on our calendar.
Mouse - yes, we do get them on occasion. We take all the preventive measures that we can - contract services and we personally bait if needed. This is an ongoing issue for all homeowners and more so if you live in wooded/remote areas. I will contact our service provider and housekeeper of your sighting.
My log cabin has been a nightly rental for almost 40 years (20 years personally) and I take the responsibility of ensuring my guests have a pleasant experience very seriously. That is why I find it necessary to address your claims.

Great location. Cute cabin.
Publié le 30 sept. 2023 sur HomeAwayWe thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cozy cabin. We loved the decks on two sides of the building. My father slept in the lower bedroom, and the two of us and Daisy Dog were comfortable in the upper loft. The woodstove worked incredibly well, we learned to put less wood in it so we could sleep comfortably upstairs. Everything we needed was in the kitchen plus things we were surprised they had. The location was convenient to all the hikes that we wanted to take. We look forward to returning for another visit.

Cute rustic cabin
Publié le 16 août 2023 sur HomeAwayMy husband and I came to area to hike. Unfortunately we couldn’t get into the NP due to the fire but the surrounding national forest offered amazing hikes. Cabin is near a fun swimming hole and very close to trails. The night sky was unbeatable here and Winthrop was just down the road with some fun places and lot of nice people who gave us great recommendations.
