Publié le 7 nov. 2024 sur HomeAwayBeautiful cabin…we loved it… the driveway was another story. I think a winter stay there would be very questionable unless you own your own snowplow. It is very steep and challenging to navigate even in dry warm weather.

Glad you enjoyed your stay. The driveway is just fine in the winter as I have owned the house for almost 20 years and have seen it all. I have a great plow guy! The higher location of the home allows for exceptional views of the George Washington National Forrest and the ski slopes.

Great place for a MTB weekend.

So glad you enjoyed your stay. The house has been freshly painted, upgraded with all new bedding, and some refreshed with new furniture. Perfect timing to enjoy the upgrades and wonderful views.

Publié le 8 août 2024 sur HomeAwayOverall served its purpose, when we arrived the towels were wet, trash under the beds, and mold on the shower liner. There was a few bottle caps on the deck as well. Looks like the house had or has water damage. Looks to be in the middle of a repair. Driveway was very steep and from other reviews people said the same. No way you can turn around at the top. Probably would not stay here again.

I am sorry you had trouble navigating the driveway. There is room for 3 cars there and a turn around area. This is a mountain home where most if not all driveways at the resort are either uphill or downhill. The advantage of the uphill driveways is to provide unobstructed views of the slopes and mountain range, both of which this property has. The owner of the cleaning company walked the home before your check in and confirmed towels were dry and all was well with the home. I will bring this information to her attention as not sure why this information is being reported.

Great house, perfect location!

Ski Trip

1.TV was outdated and had to download ROKU app to work the smart TV downstairs - upstairs TV not a smart TV.
2. Driveway was extremely steep but that was explained on property listing.
3. No Air Fryer - I had brought my own just in case.
4. One of the Doors didn't open, door handle/lock was jammed.
5. Need new Ice Trays - ones provided were cracked and broke but still worked.
Suggestion: HOT TUB would have been great - plenty of room in the House.
Overall: Great Stay and would highly recommend this house.

Thank you for the 5 star review. I will certainly take care of the ice cube trays and the door issue. As you pointed out, the driveway is uphill but totally doable and provides the home with wonderful Mountain views. The Roku has been provided in the past, however the remotes I have purchased keep disappearing, which is disappointing. I am glad you had a work around. The listing does not state that a hot tub is available so if that is one of your requirements, I suggest looking for that in listings when searching for homes. Thank you again for the great review!

Publié le 27 déc. 2023 sur HomeAwayLovely house but the driveway is horrible I know the house is built into a mountain I wouldn’t be surprised if my transmission start to give me problems because of the driveway I wouldn’t stay at that location again because of the driveway

The driveway leads to the amazing views of the slopes and the George Washington National Forrest. I am sorry you were not able to maneuver it very well. It can easily hold 3 vehicles and has a turn around spot to offer the option of going down forwards rather than backwards. There is street parking right in front of the house for those that are unable to navigate.

Graduation Weekend
Publié le 16 mai 2023 sur HomeAwayThe driveway was as steep as warned, but not unmanagable. The deck and outside furniture were in need of a good cleaning. When I entered the home, the floor was a bit dirty, but after a good sweeping, it was fine. The toaster oven and coffee maker needed cleaning as well. Everything else was great, and the home provided us with a great place to sleep, eat and hang out during our son's JMU graduation weekend. I would definitely stay again, but a good cleaning would have made it a perfect place.

I hope you enjoyed your early check in. The driveway is paved and has an area that allows a K point turn to give guests the option to go down forwards. Having a home that allows for unobstructed views is going to have an uphill driveway. It is definitely worth the view!

Wonderful Location
Publié le 21 oct. 2022 sur HomeAwayWe loved the view out the main windows and the deck! Nice open layout with the kitchen, dining, and living space. The location was great for accessing the Shenandoah National Park as well as the many activities there in the Massanutten resort area.
