No matter the season, Big Blue's tranquility and surreal sunsets are only an arm's length away from the water's edge with this charming and quaint year-round cottage on Lake Michigan.  The views to the North and West are endless!  You will have a change to see sunsets and storms roll in like never before.  This cute cottage is also minutes away from all of your favorite things to do!

This three bedroom, two full bathroom cottage with an open kitchen/dining concept and living space is the perfect family getaway.  Open all three living room sliders to appreciate the gentle breeze flowing through the lake house or enjoy the deck with with additional seating and a gas grill for an outdoor meal.  Also, within a moments walk from the cottage, let your family hike and explore the sand dunes or take a quick ride on your favorite sand toy at the scenic Silver Lake Sand Dunes. This is not a pet friendly property.

Due to high water and rock revampment, there is currently no water access in front of the property.  If the water recedes, there may be stairs near the propane tank in the cove to the north side of the property.  Otherwise there is beach access to Big Blue through the dunes on the south side of the home.

Silver Lake is located in Mears, Michigan and offers shorelines along Lake Michigan and Silver Lake. While vacationing here you won't want to miss out on the experiences that the massive Silver Lake Sand Dunes have to offer. Rent a jeep of your own or head over to Mac Wood's Dune Rides for an adventurous ride on the sand dunes. Nearby is the Hart-Montague Bicycle Trail that will take you along 22.5 miles of scenic routes. The quaint little town of Pentwater is located just north of the Silver Lake area. Pentwater is the epitome of small-town charm with its shops, food, and ice cream.  Don't forget to grab breakfast at Cherry Point, where they offer homemade donuts and treats daily. For dinner, spend an evening at Golden Sands, a small, family-owned restaurant and golf course that will leave a lasting impression. Plan on spending a day with your family at Michigan's  Adventure for a day of action and excitement. Lucky for you, all of this is just minutes away and waiting for your family to create lasting memories.

Everything was very nice and as expected. The location was a short 5 minute walk to the beach that is located next to the dunes, which is convenient to hold a cooler for riders in the dunes and to be able to hang out with riders without having to enter in a vehicle. The house was clean and well maintained.

Beware of bugs!
The place online looks like new, it is definitely not, upon entering the home we were swarmed with bugs and bug traps all over the cabin. We reached out to the number provided they said someone would call me right back. 1.5 hours later nothing, so we called again. They acted as they had no idea I called and wanted to know what I needed. This time a “owner or manager” called me back. That started the conversation telling me they had no idea of this and they just had renters leave. When I asked them about all the bug traps they proceeded to tell me they have been trying ton treat the home for the last few weeks and can’t get to the bottom of it. “If you want to leave you can”. There are no other property’s available. So after calling every hotel around we went to town, bought tons of spray and bombs to make it through the weekend leaving all food outside etc. Never once did they offer to pay for supplies, or anything for inconvenience. I wouldn’t recommend this home to anyone. Things happen, and that’s 100% understood, but the fact they feel they can charge that kind of money with no negative fees back is insanity.

Great Fall Trip
A group of friends went to visit the Silver Lake area for the first time. It was an incredible area and the home was more than we expected! Great place, incredible being right on the beach, and a big thank you for leaving a few pieces of firewood to have a fire in the stove one night. Definitely recommend!! We will be back!

This place is in the perfect location. Outside fire at night over looking Lake Michigan. Short walk to the beach. If you are renting dune buddies, this is the place for you to pick up and drop off riders. Everything was just easy and fun.

Neighbors HATE the Renters!
The cottage is adorable and the view is breathtaking! Unfortunately, I would never stay or pay this amount again! We were screamed at two times on the beach by local neighbors stating that “Renters Aren’t Welcome” and “”Renter Don’t Pay Taxes!” We never felt more uncomfortable at this location. We followed all the rules and were overly respectful to the property and surrounding areas. As we driving down the street, a neighbor screamed at us from her porch, we went speeding or anything! We truly were NOT wanted and ALL renters need to BEWARE! Neighbors HATE the Renters!

Perfect family cottage
The cottage was perfect for our family of 5 with plenty of room for more. The house has everything you need, tons of towels, well appointed kitchen with spices, cooking spray, flour, sugar, even baking soda! Plenty of paper products, chairs, games, toys and beach chairs and boogie boards, Five andirondack chairs on the deck and so much dinning space inside and out. The location was perfect, the drive in is magical and the community was so welcoming. You can walk to the beach and the dunes. And just a few minutes drive to silver lake. Thank you for a great vacation!

Cozy, adorable, and the location will blow you away.
The listing cannot do the location justice. You are right on the lake and a minute walk from a gorgeous Michigan beach right on Silver Lake Dunes. Really hard to beat. The space had all the accommodations we needed and the owners are kind. I would recommend the space to anyone. After staying the weekend with friends, we all agreed we basically could live there.
