Great welcome, great location, private, quiet and far more homely than any hotel. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Captains Retreat and will stay again on my next visit.

A beautiful old world building very close to the water and walking distance to just about everything. Very nice hosts that were very helpful when I mentioned I was looking for a place to go out. Will definitely be back.

Captain's Retreat Apartments, May 2024
Publié le 8 mai 2024 sur HotelsThe house is lovely and spotlessly clean and we'd have no problems returning. However, the room we chose was beside the front door, so as the other guests came and went we'd be disturbed by the front door closing.
The Captain's Retreat Apartments will be our choice should we visit the area again, but we would choose a different room.

Hi Gerald, Thanks for the 8/10 rating. Much appreciated. I tried to call you but the number given seems to be an international one without a country code??In 17 years, we've not had anyone comment about the noise of the front door closing so I think I know what it was. Someone had bent the screen door too far backwards and so we disconnected the soft close mechanism whilst awaiting a replacement but if people weren't careful, it would close too hard. I wish you had told me of the problem because if I'd known, I would have propped the door ajar until the replacement came. My sincere apologies. Please make yourself known when you book again. It is a beautifully decorated historical property, which is easily accessible and a real joy to stay at. Melissa was a friendly host, who is very easy to communicate with. We would highly recommend this property.

Huge shared kitchen and lounge room which leads out onto a large patio. Beds and pillows very comfortable. Walking distance to many choices of places to eat.
