Our stay
Publié le 2 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe location is great. The view is superb. The studio is well arranged. Unfortunately, the place does not make a clean impression. We received no response from the owner to a simple question we had (possibility of charging the electric car using the regular power outlet). There is a city code violation note posted on the entry door, issued by the local office. The note was a big surprise.

DO NOT RENT THIS PLACE
Publié le 20 août 2024 sur HomeAwayUnsafe! Dirty! Not as advertised! We arrived to a dirty and disheveled apartment. Dirty sheets and towels, garbage throughout the apartment. When I tried to reach the host, I was told “good luck, she never returns calls” (which proved to be true). We found clean sheets and towels and cleaned up the trash. After calling the host more than 10 times, she finally texted us 12 hours later to tell us to move out and find another place. No apology. Problem was, there was no other place. In the time we spent there, the host never called us once. There were no fire extinguishers. There were missing electrical plates with exposed electrical wires. The dishwasher did not work and there was no barbecue grill as advertised. The heater “malfunctioned” and cranked up to 80 in the middle of the night. It was a NEST and I suspect the host was controlling it remotely to mess with us. I’ve made a claim with VRBO and my credit card company.

Would have been perfect
Publié le 5 août 2024 sur HomeAwayI would have given this property a five star rating. It is a light filled spacious studio with interesting art works. The balcony overlooks the ocean. And you can easily walk everywhere in town as well as along the ocean.
Now for the bad, the studio was not cleaned before I arrived. I managed to take sheets off the small bed in a back room (for kids). I tidied the trash and washed the dishes. Not something I wanted to do after a 17 hour day.
I tried to contact the property manger but no response.

Above the surf shop
Publié le 4 août 2024 sur HomeAwayPlace was clean well equipped and convenient location. It was difficult to find at night but after bothering some neighbors we figured it out. The photo on VRBO needs updating so it is easier to identify which storefront business this darling apartment is above. We otherwise enjoyed our stay immensely

Great Location

You are in walking distance of all the stores, restaurants, and art galleries in Mendocino. Even though it is on Main Street, it has a relaxing feel to it. It is tastefully decorated and a very spacious studio.

A great stay
Publié le 20 mai 2024 sur HomeAwayWe had trouble with the tv as there were no instructions. The grill for the cold air intake for the furnace had come undone and was hanging down . It was like that upon our arrival . It was not a problem though. Other than that it was a fantastic stay. The location was amazing! We enjoyed our stay very much and loved the light in the loft and the view.

I never had such a terrible experience with a rental or treatment by a host. Still waiting for my refund or any communication from the host what so ever, regarding the conditions we found upon arrival. Everything was dirty with cans full of garbage, dirty laundry, beds obviously slept in, dirty and unmade. We arrived at 9pm after a long day driving to an uncleaned and lived in space. The people living in the commercial room below being very loud and felt unsafe.

Strange Visitor
Publié le 29 janv. 2024 sur HomeAwayOn the first night while sleeping we had an unexpected visitor knocking at our door. My Husband tried to see the person at the door but the porch light was burned out. He opened the door slightly and found a young Woman dressed in black with a hooded jacket. She insisted on coming in to get her mail—he said there was no mail here, she demanded our names. My Husband told her in a stern voice that there was nothing here for her and told her leave and closed the door.
We were both shook up thinking she may have been baiting us…we contacted the Sheriff’s Department. The Sheriff reported to us they wouldn’t be able to be in the area for a few hours. We barricaded the front door and tried to get back to sleep.
The next morning the Young Woman was walking through the backyard where several out buildings were.
She continued lurking around the area through our entire stay. It was unnerving.

Over priced and run down
Publié le 15 nov. 2023 sur HomeAwayYes the view is wonderful BUT The accommodations are run down and dirty. Weird items just randomly stuffed into places. Like it’s someone’s home on a regular basis. The windows have black mold all over them and dirt. The dishwasher wasn’t working . The windows don’t open because there rotten. Big open space and you have. Queen Murphy bed?!?! WHY
This place needs a serious facelift. I
know it’s not cheap or easy to remodel, especially in that area.
But do A deep clean , some fresh paint, and updated the furniture. That would almost make it worth the $$$ , with those small improvements.
But I wouldn’t recommend or stay again!
It’s WAY overpriced for what you get, RUNDOWN and DIRTY!
