Posted Jan. 6, 2023 on HomeAwayWe had mixed feelings about this accom, and this is the first time I have left a less than sparkling review.
Firstly, the pros for this cottage – it is quite private, and with lots of windows looking out onto surrounds where we enjoyed seeing a lot of varied wildlife. The bed was comfy and the water pressure really good. We thought the location was also good, and not far from the supermarket.
On arrival, we found food smears on the light switch near front door and in plate cupboard (tomato sauce). The washing machine had significant build up of grime, dirt and hair – we opted not to use it during our week stay. These made us feel not so sure about the listing’s claim for deep cleaning etc.
Noting that the cottage had no wifi, we had brought a few fav dvd’s to have the option of watching a movie after a day’s sight seeing, however found there was no dvd player despite this in property description. On contacting the Property Manager, she tried to resolve this with suggestion of us purchasing a dvd machine (to be reimbursed), however as we couldn’t locate access points on tv to do this, and tv was fixed to wall, we didn’t pursue this, but instead made do with hot spotting phone to laptop on coffee table. Not ideal.
We’d brought supplies with us for meals, but on going to use the electric frypan, found that it was not working at all and completely dead. By this stage, we were feeling very disappointed and regretful of paying premier peak fees for accom with these issues. If you use a grater (for salads) bring this with you – I’ve always found one in past accommodation, but this time not the case.
Contact with PM was pretty good (via email) with one phone call to us re dvd issue, and we forwarded her photos of our concerns as well as notes. PM was apologetic re our issues, which was appreciated, but despite some refund, the cottage was overpriced (at peak time) given our experience.

Great natural position
Posted Dec. 27, 2022 on HomeAwayLovely position. Beautiful outdoor area. Property a bit tired. Needs new mattresses and repair of outdoor table. Good provision of dishes. Needs more cooking utensils like measuring cups and spoons garlic press and grater. Knives desperately need sharpening.

Posted Feb. 15, 2022 on HomeAwayHi, we did enjoy our stay but feel a bit shortchanged in the communication area. I have an old iPhone 6 and apparently it’s not up to accepting the Stayz app. This meant that I couldn’t ask a few simple questions before arriving. It also meant we couldn’t book for another night.
The Weber was terribly disappointing in that it wasn’t anywhere near hot enough to cook steaks. We had to finish them off on the stove. The stove also seems to have a problem. Unless I was doing something wrong, I couldn’t get it hot enough despite going to 9.
Tim, aged 70 and suffering Rheumatoid Arthritis found the seating uncomfortable. However we both loved the hot, strong shower. We enjoyed the big , private grounds and the birds and other wildlife. The beds were very comfortable and we both slept well. Loved that there was a tv upstairs as well( meant I could watch Neighbours without snide comments from Tim)
All in all, it was fine and we benefited from the break.

Great location for a NSW South Coast/Bega Valley holiday.
Posted Mar. 19, 2021 on HomeAwayThe cottage is light and airy, comfortable and very clean set in spacious, peaceful surrounds. It's well-equipped for cooking at home, washing etc. and is conveniently very close to a supermarket and Merimbula/Pambula for beach-walking, swimming and shopping and eating out. We enjoyed our stay very much. Thank you.

a little disappointed
Posted Mar. 7, 2021 on HomeAwaythe property was nice but there needs to be some improvements before I would recommend this property. the sheets didn't fit the bed, the pillows were lumpy and need replacing. the TV didn't work properly; very few free to air channels were even available with no instructions if there were any other options. no soap or toiletries besides toilet paper were provided which , for the cost, was disappointing. we enjoyed the outdoor space and it was a nice cottage just needs some love!

Beautiful property but poor service
Posted Feb. 19, 2021 on HomeAwayThis is what I'm considering putting for the review. Gave 5 stars for everything, 3 for accuracy of the listing and 1 star for communication. Thoughts?
The land and property is just beautiful. We felt right at home and really enjoyed our stay. It wasn't as private as mentioned in the property listing as there were homes nearby that were not concealed at all. I had emailed twice before our stay to enquire about whether we could change our dates of we were unable to attend due to restrictions and I received no response. The host demonstrated a lack of tact when we asked for more toilet paper. We'd been supplied 2.5 rolls for 4 women over 3 nights. When I texted her to enquire where to find more she responded saying some is supplied and the rest can be bought from the supermarket nearby. She then accidentally sent another couple of replies that were intended for someone else. These responses were rude and inappropriate. Highlighting a lack of respect and understanding for the importance of customer service.

We all make mistakes and I apologised. We do not supply unlimited toilet paper in holiday properties. Impossible to gauge quantities. Woolworths is 15 seconds drive from the cottage.
