Grouse hunting with buddies - great spot!
Publié le 20 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwaySpent 3 nights here with some old friends and did some grouse hunting in the area. This cabin was awesome for our needs. Super comfortable and great sleeping arrangements for our group of 4. Beautiful location with a nice back deck to have a drink, watch the sunset, and recap on all the birds we missed. The only negative was the amount of flies (both alive and dead). But we’d definitely consider this place again.

Thank you for note Dan. Glad the cabin provided everything you needed for adventure and relaxing. Always surprised at what Mother Nature decides to bring though, who knew late season flies were a thing!

The step into the cabin is a little unsafe we found if you put a white rug there instead of a black one it’ll help you remember where the floor is at . And the stairs to The bedrooms in the basement were made of timber framing that looked unique, but weren’t user-friendly . I don’t mean to beat it up too bad it is what it is. It’s a cabin. we did cut our stay there short

A little getaway

Property is not equipped as listed
Publié le 21 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe cabin is rustic and definitely in the country. There is no access to the stream from the property, have to walk 100 yards down the road to a path. The bedrooms were not equipped as was shown in the description. Made for some difficult changes in sleeping arrangements. Had to make the beds ourselves, which being they are double sized bunk beds very difficult. Had to clean the downstairs floors as they were very dirty. Very few storage containers for leftover food. Some $Tree plastic containers would be nice. The owner did work with us on the misrepresented sleeping description. Overall the property needs some attention.

Kenneth was unfortunately given partially incorrect information on how many beds were actually in the cabin because the website added extra icons, I missed that and I fixed it immediately. The icons did not match the written description which was correct, so I don't understand why it was not questioned ahead of time? Sorry for my very human error on not proof-reading carefully enough. That said, I gave a $300 refund which they said would make things OK. I mentioned that they also missed reading the property description before booking, where in the first paragraph it states exactly how the bedrooms are laid out. The property also lists that the path to the creek is 100 yards down the road. We are built into the hillside and it's too steep immediately behind us, so we have a less steep, winding trail just down the road.
Each year I get 1% who are not happy and the other 99% give 5 stars. We are in the woods of central Wisconsin, we are not a fancy resort but what we offer is beautiful, fun and special place to make some vacation memories and enjoy the natural wonders all around.
Safe travels and keep on coming! I use these reviews as a way to make my description better, to buy more Tupperware if needed and to remind all travelers to ask me questions! Also if my cleaners ever miss anything, they will always come back to make it right.

Publié le 28 mai 2024 sur HomeAwayWe came to go UTVing on Memorial wknd and to also celebrate a 30th birthday. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. Plenty of room to put a puzzle together or play games. Downstairs bedrooms a little cramped. Wouldn’t suggest any elderly people staying here but was fine for us. Would stay again.

Thank you for the feedback! I do agree that if anyone has issues with stairs, this would be an issue as the bedrooms are located on another level. Good thing I can always suggest one of my other cabins with everything on the same floor.

A quiet get away with beautiful views
Publié le 9 janv. 2024 sur HomeAwayI’d like to start with the positives first by saying this is a lovely property with beautiful views. It’s charming and quiet. We sincerely enjoyed our time there as a family and are thankful for the opportunity to have been able to come together after the loss of my grandmother. The unit was clean and well stocked.
I would highly advise however, if anyone has small children, elderly travelers or people with limited mobility or knee troubles to seriously consider their stay.
The bedrooms are all located downstairs and the stairs are steep and spaced far apart. My mother has a bad knee and really struggled. The beds are set up well but could use a good update, they’re all very hard and not what I’d consider comfortable. The master shower is a high side that makes it difficult to get in and the other shower has slopped concrete that is very uncomfortable to stand on.
This was by far the CLEANEST unit we’ve stayed in which was very appreciated. The large kitchen table made for the perfect place to come together and enjoy company.
Overall a beautiful location and worth the charges if you can overlook some of the less convenient amenities.

Thank you for the thoughtful comments. It makes me realize I need to be more clear in my description that the cabin is built into the hillside and the main floor that you enter is one big great room and kitchen with patio doors to the back deck. The lower level is where the 3 bedrooms are located and that means stairs. I will add more information so if anyone has any mobility issues they should check out one of my other cabins that have bedrooms on both floors
