Thank you for your stay! iKWETA Safari Camp is the affordable safari luxury option at Meru National Park. By choice, we are a small camp with only 10 guest tents. Our accommodations are on a full-board basis. We prepare all our meals to order and serve guests at their dining table. Packed breakfasts and packed lunches for game drives are available. We have adopted an eco-friendly approach to design, layout, and operations to ensure guests enjoy natural elegance and comfort on safari at Best Value for Money.

Right on the doorstep on Meru, the rooms are comfortable, meals delicious, staff accommodating, and nature relaxing. We left early one day on a game drive and we’re provided a cooler with breakfast to take with us. Loved staying here and would definitely return. There are a lot of cats, but they are not bothersome.

Your 5-star review means a lot to us. We are proud to be one of the few star-rated establishments in the Mt Kenya region (East Africa classification system).
Since opening in early 2012, we have been offering an affordable safari luxury option at Meru National Park, one of Kenya’s most beautiful national parks with abundant wildlife including the “Big Five”.
We follow strictly prevailing COVID-19 guidelines. Our additional safety and sanitation measures such as face masks, physical distancing and handing washing points enable our guests to enjoy their stay with us in the knowledge that public health and the highest hygiene standards in relation to COVID-19 have been put in place. These measures are in addition to any statutory regulations and latest guidance from World Health Organization (WHO) and Government of Kenya.
All our 10 luxury tents are well-ventilated with heavy-duty mosquito netting on all four sides. They are amply spaced out in the natural bush environment.
We offer outdoor dining and veranda dining options with each guest group adequately separated from other guest groups. Our restaurant is large, with a high ceiling, tables widely spaced and the indoor environment is well-ventilated being partially open on all sides.

Great camp in Meru

Great value for money

iKWETA Safari Camp is about affordable safari luxury and "great value for money" as you say. We are proud to offer the affordable safari luxury option at Meru National Park, one of Kenya's most beautiful national parks with incredible wildlife including the "Big Five". We grow most of our own vegetables and fruits and source others locally. That's why our cuisine is always super fresh as we harvest and serve. We always cook to order too.

Perfect getaway 1km from Meru National Park
Publié le 24 avr. 2019 sur HotelsOur experience at iKweta exceeded our expectations. Susanne, Allan and the rest of the staff were very accommodating and approachable. The made my birthday special by preparing a cake and offering a complimentary sparkling wine. They also ensured we had various vegetarian options for our meals, which were fresh and well made. The room was very clean and comfortable and the pool was great to relax in the hot weather. One suggestion would be for the management to arrange for a fan in the room during the hot season. This would have made our stay even more relaxing and enjoyable.

Property was good value for money. Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, beautiful rooms and bathrooms with attention to detail. The owner Susan is a delightful woman.
The quality of the food served was fine but not excellent: we cannot second the reviews we’d read before our visit about the excellent kitchen. The seating area outside could do with some more comfortable chairs, to make a day just lazing away at the camp a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

We are offering and will continue to offer affordable safari luxury at Meru National Park, one of Kenya's most beautiful national parks teaming with wildlife away from the crowds. We grow most of our own vegetables and fruits at the Camp or on our iKWETA farms. We source what we don't grow ourselves from the local community. All our meals are cooked to order and guests always comment on our fresh and tasty our cuisine. All said and done we take great consideration for guest experience in terms of offering good value for money at our Camp while also striving to offer quality cuisine in terms of both nutritional value and presentation.

Beautiful resort with friendly, helpful staff.
Publié le 8 nov. 2018 sur HotelsWe were not prepared for how gorgeous the resort and tents would be. Staying here was one of the highlights of our time in Kenya. The tents were beautiful, with comfy beds and a full bathroom. This was the prefect place to call home after game drives in Meru all day, especially since the camp is located so close to the park. They also offer park maps of Meru for game drives, and advice on where to drive for the best views in the park since we were doing a self-drive.
Everyone on staff was wonderful to us, including the chef and ownership, who all greeted us warmly and helped make our stay there really great. We look forward to coming back.
