Comfortable and huge suite
Publié le 21 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe suite is incredibly clean and comfortable. The bedrooms are huge with multiple seating options and the unit had everything we could possibly need. We were pleasantly surprised with a tray of baked goods and a full fruit bowl at check in. The host was great to deal with and answered our questions and concerns in a timely fashion. We did find the location a little remote, which would have been okay if the weather cooperated more. It rained quite hard for most of our stay so we ended up spending both days travelling into Victoria; about 40 minutes by car. Another thing to note is that the host lives upstairs and footsteps can be heard often; not recommended if you are a light sleeper as it was disruptive early in the morning.

Amazing thanksgiving weekend at Hidden Pond

We stayed at Hidden Pond and although it was slightly out of town (about 35 mins from downtown Victoria) it was the perfect place to prep before and relax after. We loved the hottub and the relaxing outdoor furniture and large outdoor table where we had a big thanksgiving dinner after the rcae. Rob was super friendly and responsive and the place was huge, clean, and had so many lovely special touches!

OUR VISIT TO VICTORIA AND HIDDEN POND

The drive to Hidden Pond from Victoria was not bad, takes you away from all the lights and sounds of the city to a quiet and peaceful location. Seven of us stayed and really enjoyed Hidden Pond. the beds were all very comfortable, the kitchen amenities were more than adequate, and the living room was spacious and very comfortable. All of us agreed this was a very good choice and highly recommend to any looking for clean and peaceful surroundings after a full day of being a tourist. My wife and I have been to Victoria five times now but this was the first visit for our daughter and son-in-law and three grandchildren. This was a visit that all will cherish for years to come and was made even more special by our stay at Hidden Pond.

Publié le 1 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe property was nice in the woods, the home was spacious and great for large group. Sadly we were awoken in the morning to owners dogs barking when the door opened. The dogs luckily were quite throughout the night. We wanted to use the hottub but it felt super weird as it was on the owners deck and their window was open. Owners were responsive and responded to our messages and responded promptly. We were unable to control the heat in the unit and had to keep messaging to turn up the heat, and were still cold having to wear jackets .suite.unfortunacoulddth

As a large group with many requests before and during your stay I am sorry we did not meet your expectations.
We pride ourselves in five star service and am disappointed we were unable to achieve that with your group.
I am unclear about your concerns about the hot tub as it is a completely separate gated area separate from our private deck. I know you did ask prior if it was a shared amenity. I believe I did let you know area was private but share with other guests on-site.
We did adjust heat upwards for you and made available firewood for wood stove that is available in the suite. We have never had guests find it a problem previously. (We did adjust heat to 22 degrees, at your request , so I am surprised you still found it cold . Had you let us know we would have made additional adjustments for you .)
I do apologize for the dog noise , it was a one time event in response to wildlife on the property that morning. it was unfortunate it disturbed you .
I wish you all the best with your future group get togethers. You may be happier if you rent places that can be exclusive to your group.

Wonderful property and house
Publié le 26 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe had an amazing and memorable stay at Hidden Pond. Jo-Ann was very thoughtful with all the little extras. The home was beautifully decorated and very warm and inviting.
The pond area was so tranquil and lush. Our only regret was that it was too short of a stay.
Thank you Jo-Ann for making it a memorable stay for a group of school friends celebrating our 60th birthday year.

Lovely property
Publié le 5 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayLovely property with plenty of comfortable relaxation space inside and out. The owners really tried to cover all our needs. The driveway and walkways are pretty steep, which can be expected on a hillside, so as long as you are prepared for that you will have a wonderful stay.

Fabulous Get-Away
Publié le 21 août 2024 sur HomeAwayWe had a wonderful mini vacation at Hidden Pond. Our hosts were great at communicating with us, right from the time of our booking to responding to a few questions that we had and during our stay.
The entire suite is really beautiful and you can see the care and attention that went into decorating it. They really thought of all the little details.
We had such a great time swimming and floating on the pond and enjoyed our walks around the property. There is even (a very clean) porta-potty nearby to use so you don't have to walk all the way up the hill to use the washroom. We would bring our snacks and refreshments in a small cooler and stay down by the pond for hours, there is equal amounts of sun & shaded areas to enjoy.
*The only thing we would add is that for future stays, it would be great to have a 12-cup coffee maker provided, as there was only a French press, and we really just wanted to press a button to brew, no fuss or muss!
The hot tub was a short walk up a small hill through a little garden filled with blueberries and flowers. The hot tub fits 4 people comfortably with seating around the edge, & white fluffy robes are even provided.
We will definitely be returning to this great place. Many thanks to our hosts!

Thank you for your feedback. We strive to provide a five star experience and are sad we did not earn that with you. We had an overly complicated coffee machine previously and based on feedback changed to a French Press to keep things easy to use. It sounds like we overcorrected and will plan to add back a machine and will make sure we have it in place for your future stay. We look forward to hosting you again and hope we can earn back that extra star next time!

Peaceful Retreat
Publié le 23 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe were so happy to have found this wonderful property. The house is beautiful and it has everything anyone needs to feel comfortable and at home. The pond was amazing and my teenage kids had a blast with the row boat and flamingo. I would recommend this property to anyone who is looking to get away and relax. The property owners were very nice and available since day one but we really didn’t need anything because they did such a great job making us feel welcome. The breakfast place they recommended was delicious so please ask them about it! Loved our stay.
