Needs sound proofing, super location.
Great location as it is near to the Zocalo and many other central areas.
The hotel needs sound proofing from interior noise.
The check-in process at Hotel Principal was quick and straightforward. The staff was friendly and welcoming, making sure I had everything I needed right from the start. It was a great way to begin my stay, and I felt at ease immediately.
Great location in historical CDMX. Walking distance to many interesting locations. Room was small but with high cielings so it didnt feel too small. I stayed during the week and got a good price. Overall a great hotel.

Rooms are very small. You have to put a deposit to get an iron and a lock for the safe.

Such a beautiful space with accommodating employees who were very kind throughout. The chilaquiles verdes son lo mejor! Y la terraza, the Terrance was a dream come true for a new person traveling to CDMX. Very unique format and architecture throughout the hotel and it felt very classy and peaceful throughout my stay
Perfect for me traveling alone, I felt safe. My friends stayed across the way but it wasn't in my budget. I heard something scratching the wall one night and when I looked underneath the bed it was full of dust bunnies. I did see a couple of baby roaches in the restroom. But the rooftop is a nice touch and I enjoyed breakfast a few times up there. The staff is friendly and the price is really reasonable. And thre is Ac and TV and a little gym upstairs too.
Staffs was friendly & speak good English. Love that the hotel is in the middle of the historic center. Facility interior is nice however, the rooms need improvement. It is clean and dated. Rooms bathroom need especial attention. The 2 towels per room and beddings needs to be replace new. Bedding is white with yellow sheen from over used and washed. Furnitures are dated and unusable.
Rooms and bathrooms are a little small - but clean and in great location. Great value for the $$ ... one of the cheaper options near Historical Town Center during Day of Dead festivities.
While this is an old building, it has tons of historic charm. The staff were helpful and available for every question we had. The room we stayed in was small but I did read that going in and there were no surprises.
Very hard beds. We had room with two double beds. Very uncomfortable. We asked if they could do something about this (perhaps add a mattress topper etc.) and they gave us a key to a room with a king size bed to see if the bed was better. It was. But when we returned to say that we would like to switch there was discussion among the front desk people and it turned out this change was not possible so they gave us keys to another room to try out (it had double beds) and the beds were just as hard. We stayed with the hard bed for the remaining three nights. But for the hard bed, Hotel Principal is a good property right in the heart of CDMX.
