NO Air Conditioning & Elevator broken

I arrived a day before the rest of our family & we noticed that the elevator did not work & it was hot on the 1st floor. We called the owner (Shawn) and he said that was because the Nest thermostats need people to move around to activate the AC.The next day my son & his family arrived & he checked the AC units, he called Shawn & told him it was blowing hot air, Shawn said he would have a guy come out the next day. This was the beginning of a chain of events that spanned our entire trip – everyday it was new AC guys or handymen saying this & that was wrong with the system. They finally diagnosed, new AC handlers were needed & because Shawn didn’t change them when he changed the compressors it fried one of the new compressors. It was inconvenient having people in the house every day, especially for my son who works remotely & had to sit in an 80+ degree house while workers were coming in & out. All of this & it never got fixed for the entirety of our stay, same thing with the elevator. Owner told me he felt bad for the experience & wanted to make it right. He offered us a free stay at the property in the future.I asked for 2 of our 7 day stay to be refunded which he initially refused then agreed to refund 2 1/2 days via Zelle BUT never did. This went on for over a week with different excuses & I felt like it was a stall tactic to prevent me from leaving a review. It’s very unfortunate.

Lots of issues
Publié le 24 mars 2023 sur HomeAwayThe house could be nice but unfortunately the owner is not involved in the overseeing of the house and as a result we had constant issues to deal with.
We were at the house for 5 weeks.
-The first week there was no internet.
-Then starting the 2nd week the pool heater broke and wasn’t fixed until the day we left, 4 weeks later.
-The pool umbrella was already broken when we arrived and no one came to replace it with a new one in spite of our requests.
- None of the three bedroom TVs worked
- The kitchen wasn’t stacked properly: there were only 2 wine glasses for a 6ppl house, there were no salad plates …and so on. We had to go to Home Goods when we arrived to buy a number of items
- of note: THE BEDROOM BLINDS ARE SHEER (and one of them was broken). This means that the sun comes through extremely early. If you’re a late sleeper forget it!
- we were supposed to have two cleanings included, but the cleaning lady only came once (and when she was there she didn’t want to clean the sheets!)
The issue with the property is that the owner is out of state and has no idea what’s going on in the house.
After we left, we repeatedly asked the owner to contact us to come to some resolution on what would be a small gesture to compensate us for all the above that went wrong. Of course he went MIA.

Hi Carter. Thank you very much for your response. It was a pleasure having you in our premium vacation rental in gorgeous Sunny Isles, North Miami Beach.
Just to note we are very sorry for the inconvenience caused by the pool heater in the end of your stay. The weather was so cold the unit could not keep up with the settings of 90 degrees in 50 degree weather. We were able to order parts and fix the pool immediately.
As for the expectations, it is noted to address any personal requests prior to occupancy. Such things as additional supplies are at the renter’s expense. It is a vacation rental. Detergent, paper towels, food tins etc. We didn’t mind speaking with you daily. Even if it was about detergent or to order cleaning services for you. We were excited to hear from you always. Even our maintenance guy Tomm was on site daily as usual for any inconvenience or needs. We are always there and on point for our customers as you deserve.
Teamwork.
We do appreciate you very much, and we do take into consideration our expectations of renters. We understand certain things are beyond our control such as the car hitting the cable box on the main inlet which put the wifi out for just under 48 hours. Additionally we had record cold weather which shorted out the circuit board on the pool heater which isn’t supposed to be running under 60 degrees. But it was just over 40 degrees at night and 50 degrees during the day.
We love all of our customers.
As for everything else the umbrella was your husbands request. We have ordered a new one.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. Additionally we due appreciate your review. We wish it matched the beautiful residence. Its such a beautiful concrete structure, with breathtaking views, marble floors, gourmet kitchen, elevator, spiraled stair case and more with the outside patios, recreation areas and boat doc direct to the inter-coastal waterway.

Enjoyable stay

Underwhelming
Publié le 10 mai 2022 sur HomeAwayWe spent the first day worrying about the safety of our family because the back door of the home would not lock. The owner refused to credit us the one night. Someone came the next morning and fixed the door but took over an hour and wasted more of our time. The pool is extremely small almost the size of a hot tub. The gate by the docks also does not have a lock and people can easily walk right into the property.
The upstairs shower water did not get hot in one of the bathrooms. The fire alarm was detached upstairs and hanging from the ceiling. Overall, I was very disappointed. I wish the owner would do the right thing at refund at least one night.

Good house for a stay in Miami
Publié le 13 avr. 2022 sur HomeAwayVery nice property and is just as described. Plenty of local amenities close-by (within walking distance or short drive). Shawn, the host, was very responsive. Convenient for both North Miami Beach and Bal Harbour, which are only a short drive away.

Highly recommend the owner and property

The owner was responsive from our initial outreach and interest in the property, and remained responsive and in communication throughout our stay. The owner even reached out following our stay to ensure our family enjoyed the trip. Beyond the owner providing exceptional service, the property is excellent. The location is nearby to both Aventura and Miami Beach. There are a number of parks, activities and restaurants close to the house and within a short drive. The pool overlooking the intercoastal is a wonderful place to relax. The home has plenty of natural light, was impeccably clean and the grounds are well maintained. We would very much welcome the opportunity to stay again.
