Hi Robyn & Aaron, So glad you had a great time! That is my favorite thing to do too! I love going out on the aqua cycle, and waiting for the wildlife to come by. I saw a mom and two baby eagles (I think they were babies, they stuck together, but almost as big as mom) the other day! Amazing! Btw, we loved loved how you put the pictures of yourselves in our review book! I don't know how you did that, but we really loved it! Coolest ever! Thank-you, and have a fantastic rest of 2024! Confused by the above feedback…..Our neighbors are the friendliest, in fact, one of them has even cooked for our guests! And boat was described prior to your visit, you even asked questions ABOUT the fishing boat specifically before you came, & we answered in detail about the electric motor, the two kayaks, and the aqua cycle. My husband took you and your husband (& dog) out on our boat fishing, & even gave your husband a lure, went over and above, like we always do to make people feel welcome, because we actually love sharing our home and magical lake with people! We only rent vacation rentals ourselves, whenever possible, and sincerely appreciate the owner’s willingness to share their home, so that we can have a “real” vacation instead of staying at a hotel somewhere, and just sitting on a bed in a room watching tv. It is the way to travel today! We have numerous texts from you about all the fishing you were doing, and fun you were having, so just not sure why you would write the negative review you wrote. We love sharing our home, we love making people feel welcome, it means the world to us, so this was an unexpected review. I hope future guests look at the other reviews, and consider yours (as we did after getting over the disappointment), that unfortunately some people will be negative no matter what you do. Luckily there are not very many of those. PS I just rented a bike on Mackinaw Island recently, and it cost me $40 for 2 hours (it was super fun btw), so we think it is a “bonus” to have the water toys we have, and most guests appreciate. We definitely try to add every year to our amenities, and take kind suggestions into consideration. Super happy most people realize that value, and are appreciative. In fact, we have had numerous people return, which is the best compliment of all. Please consider your words, and the consequences they have, and maybe contacting the owner directly, if you are not happy during your stay. I am sure they, like we, will do whatever they can to discuss your complaints. Best wishes for your future travel.
