Property was clean, excellent bar, brilliant breakfasts, Staff pleasant and helpful .Easy local walking
We found our bed was too small
Problem with no shoes upstairs
Beautiful oak staircase but was slippery in stocking feet
Full marks otherwise

Thank you very much for taking time writing the great review so soon after your check-out! We are delighted to read you enjoyed what we offer at The Wayside including breakfast and the bar. The room you booked, 'Buttermere' (deluxe double room) has a double size bed as mentioned in the room description. If you would like a bigger bed bed, please consider 'Windermere', (large deluxe king double room, the annex room), which offers a king size bed, next time. Located in the Lake District, whilst we welcome many hikers with muddy boots, we have 'no outdoor shoes' upstairs for everyone's comfortable stay, and we appreciate your understanding during your stay. Also thank you for your feedback on the stairs, which we will look into. The 'no shoes' house rule is communicated with all our guests in advance via email prior to their check-in, and guests are welcome to bring their own indoor shoes if they prefer, which you may want to consider next time. We hope to welcome you back to The Wayside soon in the future.

We loved the wayside whiskey barn. We had the twin room which was tastefully decorated. The whole place was real class. We had a full english for breakfast which was delicious. Emiko was a lovely lady . She let us book in a bit earlier. She went out of her way for anything that you would need. We would definately go back for a return visit.

Lovely B&B on the West side of the Lake District. Beautifully restored farmhouse with an excellent whiskey bat - have to admit to trying the bespoke Gins rather than Scotch. Will return.

Lovely location & plush room
Publié le 1 sept. 2020 sur HotelsPerfect location to explore the peaks Lake District or the beaches of Millom. We hiked up Scafell Pike and the drive to and fro was just 40 mins. The room itself was gorgeous, tastefully decorated and very plush. Lovely owners, very courteous and helpful and accommodated our last minute booking and late checkin/checkout requirements without a fuss. Totally recommend the stay here to getaway from the humdrum of city life!
