Beautiful for our honeymoon!

No water
Publié le 10 août 2024 sur HomeAwayWhile the property is lovely and spacious and very pet friendly, when the electricity goes out, as it did twice when we were there, there is NO water. While the host cannot guarantee that the power will stay on, there should be a generator on the property to ensure that guests are not without water. It's not a campsite, but a house. And the surrounding properties all have generators precisely in the event of a power outage, that the host's partner told us happens "time to time." If nothing else, the listing should note that in the event of a power outage, there will be no water. It's possible to manage without electricity for a while, but it's impossible to manage without water.

We did have
several bad storms that came through taking some wires down across the river. The outages were very short and I was very proactive with the electric company making sure it was repaired quickly. We do keep water in the cabin as well as having a 30 gallon reserve tank. Outages can happen here just like they can happen anywhere during a big storm.
I do feel that a 2 star review is very harsh under the circumstances. I work very hard to to make sure all of my guests are happy and comfortable, and all of my five star reviews are reflection of that -along with being a premier partner. This was unfortunately, something that was completely out of my control. In the future, it’s important to communicate with your host during your stay if you have an upset. I wasn’t aware that you were upset until after you left the property and at that point there was nothing I could do. I was especially surprised because I did accommodate you with your requested early check-in and you messaged me telling me how much you loved the property and how beautiful it was.
I am truly sorry for any inconvenience you experienced and I do wish you and your husband all the best.

Amazing stay!

A Cabin with Style
Publié le 26 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayIf you are looking for a place in the Delaware River valley for a quiet, relaxing time, or as base for fishing, rafting, hiking, or exploring the historic towns along the river, this cabin is ideal. It is a cabin, yes, but a cabin with style and comfort. The cabin is well-equipped and nicely decorated in a style I would call "rustic chic," including a canoe-shaped bookcase. The kitchen and bathroom have been attractively updated. Finally, there is the great view of the Delaware River from the cabin's deck, a perfect place to sit with a cup of coffee or tea. We enjoyed our stay and can highly recommend this property.

Peaceful cabin by the river

The cabin itself is modern and comfortable, well stocked with everything you could need for cooking, activities, and comfort. The lawn is large and well kept, the dog loved running around, and we made use of the fire pit. A staircase leads down to the riverfront where you have your own private shoreline/river access. We spent the day fishing, swimming, and tubing. (Water shoes are a must). Hosts were friendly and readily available, checking in/out was made very easy. We highly recommend, definitely planning on another stay soon.
