Good base for exploring

Kitchen was a little sparse and you certainly could not cook a meal in it with ease, but basic items were available. No area to sit and relax. Overall I found the property perfect as a base to visit my family in the Atlanta area

Perfect Getaway

Great quiet stay.

only one problem
Publié le 19 avr. 2023 sur HomeAwayThe apartment was very cute and private. The walk to the apartment was down a cute stone path with fairy lights, just so pretty.
My only complaint is the infestation of German cockroaches, that invade at night. The first night i woke up to one on the ceiling and one on the wall. The second night the curtains were covered with many roaches. I left and went to a hotel for the rest of my visit there in Georgia.

We're very sorry we didn't earn a five star review from you. We are a bit confused with your complaint about "German cockroaches" because we have never seen nor had any other complaints about roaches at all! And we are very disappointed that you didn't mention this to us during your stay. We didn't even know that you had left early!
The only thing that we can even come up with is that perhaps you saw what we in Georgia call "palmetto bugs". These are outside dwellers that are prevalent in the woods (and we are definitely in the woods), and they will sometimes come in (because no house is air tight) when it rains. But then they quickly die because of our bug treatment and/or because they don't have any water. They are not at all associated with uncleanliness, but they can be surprising giving their large size ("German Cockroaches" are small and hide and scurry rather than hang out on the ceiling or curtains).
We're very sorry for the unwelcome visitors. We wish you had said something. But your review is very misleading. Using the word "infestation" and labeling the bugs specifically as "German cockroaches" is pretty harsh. Our little guest suite is very clean. It is right next to our private living quarters, which also are clean. Living in the woods means living with nature, and the beauty and peace very much outweigh the wildlife issues that come with it.
