Lakeside Cottage with Inspiring Views! Master Bedroom & Lakeside Decks!

My wife and I spent years searching for the perfect lakeside cottage that embodied more than just a home, but exuded a certain lakeside character. The Windhouse is a 2 bedroom, 2 full bathroom, newly renovated lakeside cottage that fits that to a T!

WHAT MAKES THE WINDHOUSE SO SPECIAL?
With comfortable furnishings throughout ranging from bedding to sofa, mattresses to dishware, you will be met with joy at every turn while at your lakeside retreat. Everything has been cultivated with thoughtful input in order to provide our guests the most inclusive lakeside beachy experience. From its charming tongue and groove ceiling to its beaded paneled walls, you'll feel right where you were meant to be. The lakeside deck is one of our favorite spots on the property as it offers inspiring south facing views of the lake. Capitalizing on our southern exposure, you are able to experience the best sunrise and sunset views. Waking up in your upstairs king size bed, you'll be able to lie there while enjoying unobstructed expansive views of the lake. There is also another balcony off the master bedroom giving you another perspective to enjoy. With a flat yard leading right up to the waters edge you'll be able to step right into the lake from your private water frontage. We also have a dock and boatlift available for use, so feel free to bring along the water toys!

WHAT MAKES OUR BEDROOMS SO INVITING?
With the utmost comfort in mind, we opted to upgrade to brand new beds and mattresses throughout all rooms. And then we thought, "who wants to sleep on a small bed?" So we put a king size bed in the primary bedroom and a queen size bed in the second bedroom. Taking it a step further and for the most convenience for everyone possible we also put up 2 bunk beds!

WHAT IS THERE TO DO?
The main reason we feel anyone would choose our cottage is to have the most genuine lakeside cottage experience. From the magazine quality style and furnishings, to the soaring lake views, to your private lake frontage the possibilities are endless. We are happy to be able to provide our guests with complimentary use of 2 kayaks, so if you're not able to bring your own boat, you'll still be able to get out and enjoy the water. If the weather doesn't fully cooperate, snuggle up in front of the wall-mounted tv and enjoy a movie on Netflix. We also have board games and decks of cards for those looking for something else. The cottage has WIFI connectivity for those needing to "stay connected." For those looking to get off property to enjoy a night out, our little lakeside cottage has its own neighborhood tavern; only a 4 minute walk offering a full dining menu and adult beverages.

THE WINDHOUSE LAKESIDE EXPERIENCE
We have worked extremely hard to cultivate an experience that emulates everything we find so very special about lake living. We hope you are able to settle in to the lake lifestyle we think everyone so greatly deserves to experience, and if there is anything we can do to make your experience even more enjoyable we are always available.

Their photos are from years ago when they first started renting the home and do not reflect its current condition. Dirty kitchen Dirty bedrooms Urine stained beds The couch is in very poor condition with many stains and dirt. The house had a strong musty smell. There are obvious water issues with staining on window frames. The owner offered to clean AFTER we arrived...but aren't they supposed to clean BEFORE the guest checks in? Also, the stairs that go to the second floor lean to one side. No bath on the 2nd floor with the two main bedrooms so you might need to use those stairs in the middle of the night. The basement is very very rustic. The home was in such bad condition we left after about 20 minutes; after taking pictures that I can't share as part of the review which is frustrating.

The cottage is a bit of a throwback to simple lake life. We slowed down. We played. We loved the views from every level. The lake and kayaks gave us the right amount of summer vacation and laughs. Sweet master bedroom and deck. Deck off kitchen was just perfect for early morning coffee and late afternoon glass of wine. Easy to use TV with apps and AC worked well so we were cool even on the hottest day. Thanks for sharing this gem.

Perfect spot
This home was just perfect-close and convenient enough to downtown, yet far enough away to enjoy some peace and quiet. The beds were comfy and the water softener was a nice change from hotel hard water. There are a few local restaurants in the area and addtl shopping just a few miles away. While The owners were reachable if needed, there was nothing amiss or needed. Thank you for your hospitality!

Great Lake House!
My husband and I stayed for three nights with family for a local wedding. The cottage is quaint, clean, and comfortable. The location is awesome, and the view of the lake is beautiful. Unfortunately, we did not have time to use the kayaks, but it would have been a blast! Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful location
We had a wonderful time during our stay at Wind Lake with our two dogs! The backyard was perfect for them to run and play. We enjoyed fishing and kayaking as the weather was perfect for us to spend our days outside! We ventured to downtown Milwaukee one day which was just a short car ride away. We enjoyed dinner and drinks on the deck each night with the beautiful view of the lake!

Enjoyed a family getaway on Wind Lake! The property provided plenty of space for our family of 5 and our lab, who loved jumping off the dock. Were grateful to be able to easily dock our pontoon rental at the property.

Rented for a long weekend for a nearby wedding. Comfortable living area and bedrooms. Not a ton of towels, kitchen supplies, paper towel etc not ideal with a toddler. Nice patio and beautiful view of lake.

Cute Lake House for a Relaxing Getaway
This property was one of the cleanest rentals we've stayed at. The owners were very responsive and friendly. The house is decorated beautifully and has a clear view of the lake. The kitchen is small but well stocked. Towels and linens provided. We absolutely loved the kayaks and paddle boat (life vests included), and there are board games and a Roku TV. There is also a fire pit (bring your own firewood) and a gorgeous playset in the backyard - excellent for children of all ages. Just a quick heads-up up, there are stairs leading up to the entrance and more stairs to the main living space. Also, there isn't a bathroom on the second floor, so you would have to go downstairs to the main level if you need to get up in the middle of the night. Because of this, the rental may not be best for people who have trouble with stairs. However, we had no issue during our stay. We would recommend to the owners to add nightlights near the stairs and in the bathrooms for easier nighttime navigation. We also recommend removing the air conditioning window units in the fall season, since it was a bit drafty in the bedrooms. Overall, this rental is highly recommended, especially for the summer season. Thank you for a wonderful getaway!

Family Lake House
We had a nice stay with our family. The play structure was a nice surprise and our grandkids really loved it. We also made good use of the kayaks and the paddleboat. We loved the deck and used it a lot for lunches and just enjoying the view. You should update the pictures to include these things.

Great weekend at the lake
We had a wonderful few days at Wind Lake. The house was very clean and comfortable. The deck overlooking the lake was awesome for mornings and evenings. The kitchen had everything you need for any meals, and the outdoor grill was very convenient. Plenty of space and very comfortable king size bed. We kept our boat on the dock for our stay & did very well fishing for bass and pike. The only negative, which has nothing to do with the property, is the lake level was very low. It was very hard to fish from the dock and we had to be careful with our boat in the shallow water near the dock. We had several great meals at area restaurants also, and we loved that we could bring our dog for our stay.

Beautiful!!
This is a charming lake house. The view is amazing! Perfect for kayaking and paddle boarding. The lake is very weedy so it isn't great for swimming unless you are on the sandbar but that was fine for my family. The deck was the best part about the house. The deck furniture provided a comfortable place to enjoy the view and relax while grilling. We also enjoyed the fire pit that is right next to the lake. Highly recommend this house for your lake stay.

Family Get Together
We were able to travel from Ohio to gather with my family for my parents 50th anniversary! One of my siblings has a house on Wind Lake so we were familiar with the scene. It was nice to have a retreat option to ourselves this time. We spent the entire weekend on the lake swimming, tubing, surfing, watching sunsets, hanging out on the many sandbars, kayaking, etc. We ordered out from a local Mexican place (that u can almost walk to: Sol de Mexico) that fed our whole family and more. The deck was perfect for morning coffee and looking over the lake from the bedroom was an extra bonus too!
