Bonne halte pour une nuit
Publié le 17 juin 2017 sur HotelsMaison insolite, qui ressemble plus à un musée qu'un B&B, chambre plutôt petite sous les toits, salle de bain qui donne sur le couloir, pas trop d'aération, sinon très bon accueil et petit dejeuner très bien et copieux, fait maison , personne ne parle français mais la propriétaire fait des gros efforts pour parler doucement et avec quelques notions d'anglais on se comprend

A leaky ceiling and a bad attitude
Publié le 7 oct. 2024 sur HotelsWe needed a room in a very sold out night in Milwaukee, and decided to take a chance on a bed & breakfast because it seemed charming.
Knowing that a B&B is usually run by owners on site, my husband and I were mindful to check in as early as we could (6pm), but were greeted so coolly by the hostess upon arrival, I thought we were in the wrong place. Within 15 minutes, I was ready to leave-and should have. The proprietress used every opportunity and moment of our visit, to make us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Commanding us to sit or stand, contradicting or arguing with everything, it was appalling. She complained endlessly about the third party site I had booked on, complained about other guests to us and was outright mean to her spouse in front of us.
We tried to ignore all this, enjoy the ambiance (the room really was pretty), but awoke in the morning to water leaking from the ceiling, right onto us on the bed. When we let her know what was happening, instead of trying to fix it, she blames another guest, in the middle of a full dining room! He “took a shower wrong” and caused this leak, apparently. Meaning, this has happened before and we were rented a room with full knowledge the ceiling leaks.
No apology, no concern for the bed (being leaked on the entire time this is happening).
I have never had someone make me so uncomfortable and feel so unwelcome, anywhere I’ve stayed.
We left tired and started for the drive home; I’m still in shock about the experience.

Oh we remember you. You arrived, I offered whether you wanted to stand or sit while we checked you in our home. I even explained why we offer that option. Your continued to share with us how wonderful the place was. We laughed and talked for a bit, your family who was not staying decided he wanted to stay for breakfast. You expressed that you were very happy with your room. Not once did I get the feeling that you were not comfortable. Now as far as the water issue. Your room was on 2nd floor. On the third floor there is a bathroom and if that guest does not read the sign while taking a shower that says you have to please put the shower curtain in the tub because it is a claw tub, there will be an issue. Which as happened about 3 times in 16 years. That morning about 8:00 am you did have the water leak. You shared this problem with us 1.5 hours later about 9:30. Not while it was happening. When we could have slowed the issue down. We DID apologize for what the other guest had done. We even talked to the man who took the shower in front of you. At that point Brian did not want to talk about it. And continued to not speak to us during breakfast or when he left. And we did not charged you for the extra breakfast. Things can happen that are out of our control especially with an old home.

Such a beautiful place with charm & very clean!! Food was delicious & it's a great location for going to the Pabst Theater! Make sure you go to the front door with the sign in front, & not the side door by the garden when you check in.

Laura Sue and Rick show great pride in the Bed and Breakfast they run!
Our breakfast was wonderful, with great conversation with other guests and our hosts.
The outside garden area was so beautiful and inviting! The perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of wine…as long as it’s not raining.
The BnB is not far from the Brewers ball park or the downtown area which was very nice!!
We had a very pleasant experience and would stay again!

Super cool place to stay

The breakfast was absolutely delicious and more than we ever would have expected. This place is definitely worth checking out and a super cool experience to have in our travels.
Please ignore the negative reviews regarding the neighborhood that the mansion is located in. We felt completely safe and had no issues with having our vehicle parked at the property. The people who have commented on the neighborhood being bad clearly have not traveled much outside of small town America. It is what you would expect from being in any city in the United States. Great place, great price, great experience! We would highly recommend it.

The room was super clean and beautifully decorated. The service was perfect and breakfast was extremely delicious. I want to come back again to this same B&B.
