Good place, but not too good service
Publié le 2 avr. 2019 sur HotelsAn excellent location, and a wonderful pool. Good price, and a small, cute place. What was not so good, was our experience checking in. We had booked a garden room, but apparently these were "fully booked", and we were given a lesser room with a street view (a noisy street). We tried to explain that this was not what we booked, but they insisted it was the same, and that the two garden rooms were not available. We could switch the next day. That was fine, but we did not want to pay full price for the street view. But no, it was nothing they could do. Even though they had available premium rooms, they downgraded us, and would only offer the premium room if we payed the difference. The manager even came to our room when we were considering changing hotel, and yelled at us, saying "this is your room, this is what you payed for, this is what you get!" But this is not true at all, as we had clearly booked the garden view. We spend some time calling hotels.com, and they called the guesthouse and so on, and it all ended with a 10 dollar refund from hotels.com. Did not really cover the charge for calling from Sri Lanka, but oh well. Apart from this, we were mostly happy. Even though they did not do room service every day, as they had to get our key to do that, so when we were away from early morning, they could not clean the room. And they did not tell us this. But the pool area is wonderful, and the location too.
