Avis South facing apartment - spectacular sea & mountain views with pool

In all our years of hosting, we have never had a more sinister and disappointing experience. In hindsight it seemed clear the guest deliberately engineered the outcome. First it is booked as one guest and it was only as we prepared the apartment for rental the guest confirms 5 adults would arrive. Not 1. If the guest had communicated with us from the beginning, we would have advised our 2nd bedroom is not suitable for 3 adults. The cleaning fee of €90 is stated clearly in the description and is again stated in the house rules which you confirmed you read and agreed.. As you were not communicating with us despite our correspondence to you, I reminded you on 21/7/24 of the cleaning fee which you did not respond to either. I also reminded you on the morning you were leaving which is now 4 occasions the cleaning fee was mentioned and again you did not comment. Bulbs go and could easily have been replaced. I explained that only gas BBQ's are permitted on the terrace and for that reason we were unable to provide a gas BBQ as we would be unable to monitor the purchase of gas bottles. And I explained this to you by text. The aircon in one of the bedrooms only became an issue following your arrival and an engineer has been booked to follow up on that issue. In the meantime fans are available in the apartment to cope with issues should they arise. Our cleaning team are a professional group of people and I am sceptical about your other complaints and will bring this to the attention of our management, however in 20 odd years we have never had an issue with ants as we are in an elevated position.. Ultimately it would seem you wanted the apartment for nothing as it's difficult to believe you have an issue given the price you paid for 3 nights in high season for 5 adults and were able to freely avail of all standard services plus free WiFi, free pool use, all TV channels including UK channels and you think out of that rate which works out at €130 each for 3 nights, I should incur your cleaning fee also. Your failure to pay the fee is a clear breach of the terms and conditions and it's difficult to see your review as anything other than an attempt to justify your actions.. This fee remains outstanding and VRBO have agreed and confirmed they are seeking Paymnt from you. Incidentally the cleaning fee by paying directly on site was intended to avoid further comissions being charged.
