Unpleasant stay
Publié le 15 sept. 2022 sur HomeAwayThe accommodation was very poor standard. The small bedroom had no electricity except for overhead light. Situation of bed meant no access to bedside table in that room. Really unfit for purpose
The place felt grubby. Not enough crockery. No basics left eg milk bread washing up liquid.
The upstairs toilet blocked on first day and left a voicemail msge to Gary but no reply.
Bathroom needs immediate refurbishment. As does kitchen and downstairs loo there was no toilet brush or roll holder
All in all an unpleasant experience
Would certainly not recommend

Thank you Sheila for your ‘forthright’ comments, I’m sure they were placed in good faith, slightly out of context maybe, but perfectly legitimate.
The house is ancient, but very comfy, it’s never empty, but Full Self Catering also means we don’t supply any food, all leftover food in the cupboards gets binned by the cleaners.
Also we don’t have any unresolved issues from you on file, but I can see that our cleaners actually reported a couple of them to you, before your arrival, as we had less than 4 hours notice to organise a visit from Dyno Rod, after discovering unreported damage caused by the previous guests physically breaking, (not blocking), one of the 2 toilets before your arrival, which is probably why we’re scratching our heads, as we told you first and repaired it as soon as we could get an engineer.
As there are so many major shops and service providers on your doorstep we could have easily supplied to you or also delivered any shortages, that you thought appropriate to mention, from a teaspoon to a bed.
I’m Sorry we didn’t do it for you Sheila, but we would have tried, based upon the communication we received which, according to the records, was none relevant to your review.
For anybody reading this response, may we re-emphasise, this property is a refurbished, but very old detached house, it’s set in between blocks of even older terraced houses in a very old market town of Mold.
If one of the best in a neighbourhood of blue collar ‘crumbly’ might make you ‘grumbly’, please don’t book it.
We are open and forthright about it; this house is darn cheap, fairly modernised, but it’s older than Queen Victoria’s dead cat, that’s the way it is, but it is also draught proofed, fully enclosed, quiet and warm, (we have an EPC certificate to prove it), so most people love it.
Google street view will give the area suitable context.
This 100+ year old building is constantly getting repeat bookings from guests, (many contractors, pet owners, families ), even in the winter months because it’s a fraction of the cost of local hotels and modern apartments in Chester and Wrexham, so you’ll have to choose what is best to spend your budget on.
We shall continue to endeavour to improve, as laid out in its constantly updated house manual regardless and will keep welcoming all you bargain hunters again and again.
We’ll see you soon !

The property was dirty and grubby. The electrics did not look safe (diy sockets and extension cables everywhere. We actually cut our holiday short because we couldn't face staying another night (this is the first time we have ever experienced this)
