Perfect peaceful family getaway or reunion location. Sit and enjoy the gardens while listening to the waves crash on nearby Carmel Beaches. You have a choice ... We are 6 mins walk from the main Carmel Beach and 9 mins from the Carmel River State Beach. Our home is a 1750 sqft 3bed / 2bath beach-home with high ceilings and wall to wall LIGHT! It's tastefully appointed to help you immerse yourself in a California beach experience.

There's lots of living, cooking and 'kids play' space inside and outside the home. There's comfortable dining and sitting space for 8 in the living room, the dining room and on the back patio. We have 4 flat screen TVs, with Netflix and Amazon Prime. There is a 3D TV with 9 viewing glasses, a 3D DVD player, video library and some 3D movies! Broadband Wifi reaches all areas of the house. There is a professional 6-speaker discrete in-ceiling system.

We have a small library and the gas fireplace is remote controlled. Relaxing after a long day is easy when every bed is a memory foam mattress. Waking up, enjoy the roses, citrus trees and succulent gardens with your coffee. In short, the typical Carmel paradise. Don't be surprised to be sharing it with hummingbirds, squirrels and blue jays. The young kids will love the double bunk bed room and a secret bonus room filled with goodies!

The Mission Ranch Hotel and Restaurant (owned by Clint Eastwood) is a fantastic restaurant to have 200 yards from the front door. It has a Piano Bar as well as outdoor seating to watch the sunsets and the sheep! The Sunday Brunch is highly recommended ! Less than a mile (0.9miles/20mins walk) away is the shopping and restaurants of 'Carmel by the Sea' on Ocean Avenue. For an extra 5 mins you can walk back via Scenic Drive overlooking the Carmel beach. Nearby is Point Lobos State Reserve. We recommend a 5min drive and park on the road by the entrance and then walk in. It's beaches are so beautiful several movie beach scenes have been filmed there. The famous Carmel Mission, and Mission Trail Park are also about half a mile walk. Beautiful beaches and coastal paths extend for 3 miles past Carmel River State Beach towards Point Lobos and are walkable from the house if the river does not cut through the beach

Tranquility indeed!
This cottage with its lovely gardens and outdoor areas manages to exude tranquility despite being short blocks from the famous beaches that dazzle visitors to Carmel. The furnishings are comfortable and tastefully chosen and the kitchen is amply equipped. It feels like home, if your home were in beautiful Carmel. And the play room is Heaven for young family members. Our granddaughter was enchanted. We look forward to returning next year.

Master bathroom drain clogged; pillows on beds the size of big logs and unusable; windows in house had no ability to open making bedrooms musty smelling and warm at nite; sewer backed up while visiting - learned from plumber that the sewer backed up several weeks before our visit.

The location of the home is perfect! Beds were comfortable, plenty of hot water, all basic kitchen appliances provided, lovely automated fireplace and a great propane bbq. Brand new washer/dryer. Lots of durable furniture ideally suited for fam with young children. Would have really liked additional soft/comfy furniture for evening gatherings. Lovely garden. Very low key/beach house vibe.

The location of the property is quite good - convenient to most everything we wanted to do in the area. We were disappointed in the cleanliness in the kitchen - after arriving and getting settled, we wanted to have appetizers on the patio, but found dishes that were still wet with many still having food spots on them....so we then had to run all the dishes through the dishwasher before using. The couch in the living room is attractive but not at all comfortable - the cushions had essentially no padding left in them and we wound up having to sit on throw pillows on top of the cushions, which was awkward. The house in general was fine with adequate space. We just thought it would be a bit more upscale to match the price we'd paid.

Perfect Carmel Beach Stay
This is our second time using this house for a small family get together. We have kids ages 4 - 10 and between the bunk room and play room there is plenty of space to keep them entertained. The walk to the beach is only a few blocks and this side of town hardly gets any of the tourist traffic. Cant wait to return next year.

A Carmel-by-the-Sea Gem!
We loved our stay in this beautiful house in the heart of Carmel-by-the-Sea. The house was perfect for our needs and we loved being able to walk easily to the beach. This house is perfect for kids. Good beds, lovely backyard for enjoying a meal. Smart TV made it easy to watch the US Open. It was an easy walk down to the beach or downtown. The home was well decorated and equipped. We'd definitely book this home again next time we head to Carmel.

Great Beach Home in Quiet Neighborhood
My family of four adults recently enjoyed a four-night stay at the Tranquility in Carmel. The house was just as represented. Plenty of room for us all to have our own space and great common areas and patio seating as well. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed. We loved the plants in the yard and short walks to the beach. June and Paul were super responsive and a pleasure to deal with. Check in/out was seamless. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

We had an incredible stay with two couples and four young kids (3-7). The setup was perfect with double bunks in one room and the adjacent play room to the kids room was a game changer. Layout of the home was perfect, and setup was very kid friendly. Would 10/10 recommend for young families!
