Staff was nice enough but place was smelly and run down with bad music coming through the wall from the neighbor. The market next door was only for barbecue restaurants and tourist items. Not an actual market. We left after one night ASAP. The area has potential to come back to life some day and it really should since it is full of historic jewels that have been neglected.

1. The neighborhood is dangerous after 10 pm
2. You only get 1 roll of toilet paper per day and no facial tissues
3. it's noisy
4. the breakfast is mediocre
Suggestion: look for a place along the southeast coast of Montevideo

But overall great service and friendly staff. The bed was comfortable and everything was nice & clean
