We booked this apartment at the last minute so inventory was low and we didn't have high expectations. However, I think it's worth sharing our experience so future renters have all the information to make a decision about this property.
The Pros: The neighborhood is delightful, near pharmacy, Jean Talon market, grocery store, and metro. Couldn't ask for a better location.
The Cons: The entire rental smelled so badly of cigarettes that it was difficult to spend time there aside from sleeping (which wasn't pleasant either). We spent as much time as we could away from the apartment or on the back patio to avoid the terrible smell. Also, if you're staying more than a few days, you will have to live out of your suitcase as every closet door in the apartment is broken, and there is nowhere available to unpack clothes or put them away.
This is a bare bones, no frills rental, and fine if you are only staying a couple of nights and can handle the oppressive smell of old nicotine. The apartment was fairly clean, but nothing could cut the oppressive cigarette smell.
