We enjoyed our stay at Marie-Lou’s guesthouse! Marie-Lou was a great host, with advice for activities, and provided us with delicious fruit, coffee, milk, butter, and eggs for our stay, which was very helpful. Her guesthouse is in a local neighborhood, with all the sounds of the local dogs, chickens, and neighbors, which we did not mind, but if you are looking for a resort experience, you should stay at a resort.
Her place was right on the lagoon, and she had a two person kayak, that we used to take out to the reef to snorkel. We walked to the local grocery store just across the street to get pain de chocolat in the mornings. Her place is very close to great hiking. Her garden is beautiful with orchids and other tropical flowers. She has two great dogs that we enjoyed greeting daily. The bedroom has an air conditioner which worked well. You will need a rental car to get around Moorea FYI, which are available by the ferry.
