Avis Pension Poerani Moorea - 2 Bedroom Suite in a lagoon edge villa

The property itself is nice enough. Feels like a compromise between an apartment and a hotel suite. You're sharing the grounds with two other families/groups but you're somewhat spread out. A/C is very powerful, beds are very comfortable, and very clean. The kitchen is "next to" the rooms... not really connected and VERY basic with a little two burner stove. The kitchen floor is sand for some reason. However, what really stands out in my memory was the terrible check-in experience. We were never sent check-in instructions despite reaching out asking for them ahead of time. Were unable to find the property (GPS they send you points you down a small road in a run-down area), the manager stopped responding to our texts... at one point we were convinced that we had been scammed. Finally found the property (it's not hard IF you have directions) and followed in a fellow guest when they opened the electric gate. No one was there to meet us despite assurances that someone "was there". They don't seem to be geared toward self-check but they could easily do this with a little communication. Finally, we just moved into one of the villas that was empty and seemed to match the right description. Luckily, it was the right one. When we finally were visited by the staff they were very nice and very apologetic but it caused us a lot of unnecessary stress. In general I'd give it 4 stars if it weren't for the check in experience.

Wonderful place to stay, water just meters away from the bedroom. Very cool kitchen. Loved it.

Nice private villa with access to little private beach.

My fiancé and I stayed for 2 nights; wished it was longer, and had the best experience with our hostesses. They were so welcoming and gave us a tour of the place during our check in. We had everything we needed plus more. From kayaks to snorkel gears. We used the kayaks both days and loved it. Highly recommend this place! I can’t wait to return.
