Storms, flash-flooding and high winds caused power outage in the area and our event was canceled. Tried to call the property, at the provided number, multiple times within 30 minutes of making the reservation and there was no answer. Maybe the phones were out also. If that was the case, and considering road blockages and debris and flood damage on the way to the property, I should have received a refund for a room that I was unable to stay in.

Hi Misty! Thank you for taking the time out to share your feedback with everyone. Our area did get hit pretty hard by the weather during these dates and did lose power for most of the day on Friday I am sure that is why we were not able to take your call. Our records show that you booked and paid Expedia who would have been the only contact that could have cancelled you with a refund as they took payment. I also see that your reservation was cancelled on our end on the day of arrival which is great but expedia has their own policies on cancellations with their prepaid bookings that we can not override on our end. Our property did not charge you and did not collect from Expedia so that your reservation could be refunded by Expedia without penalty if they agreed. Our team did everything we possibly could in the situation we were in and then to receive such a terrible review score 1 hurts our team & property with Choice greatly is very disappointing as we did all we could to ensure your reservation was cancelled on saturday. My team & I are very sorry that you were not able to cancel with a refund via Expedia. Our team is here to help in anyway possible & hope that we are able to accommodate you in the future given better circumstances.
