I pulled up and they had no power. I didn't check in and still got charged

Hello Leticia, the property did not have power due to the hurricane that hit Western North Carolina. We do apologize for not contacting you prior to your arrival but as you said the property did not have power along with phone and internet service which prevented us from contacting any guests. Secondly, the charges posted to your card are through Expedia and they will assist you through the refund process if you contact them and explain the situation. We sincerely apologize for the terrible experience you had in regards of your stay. Thank you for understanding.

Thank you for completing the review Anthony, we understand your frustration with not being informed of the hotels status. The reason for this being that the hotel and the surrounding properties lost power, internet, water and phone services.

Cleanliness was just OK. No coffee available at breakfast due to the coffee maker being out of service.

They did NOT have any power OR water when I got there. They had certainly not let people know that fact. I did not stay after driving for 3 hours. I finally found another hotel and got into a room now, at 3:30 A.M. I've never been more disappointed. I should not be held accountable to pay for this booking when I did not stay there. The managers told me they were only open for people with extreme situations, like there home had been destroyed.

And yes, our main intent and purpose of leaving our online booking open was for the local community that had been severely affected by the hurricane. We had multiple families with kids who were stranded due to fires and trees falling on their houses as an after-affect of the hurricane. And I would also like to apologize for not contacting you and other guests who had made reservations on that night. We had lost power, phone and internet services which prevented me from contacting guests
