We had a long drive from Arlington Texas because of the rain and traffic. Was hoping for a nice room when we got there, we were very disappointed. The room smelled musty, the carpet was dirty, some type of water or pee spots and old. The sheets did not look clean, no coffee decanter, there was the actual coffee maker but no pot. I requested to charge a different CC instead of using our debit card, she said no problem. Well our debit card was charged instead of regular credit card I wanted to use. The was comfortable and the shower was good. I did bring my own sheet cover and blanket. No place to hang out clothes except if you want to use a rod next to the water heater. The place was run down and desperate need of new everything. It was not clean to me, some small droppings found behind the bathroom door. My husband was even disappointed, he rarely has bad things to say about the places we stay. I should have taken pictures.

Very close to Petit Jean State Park. Room was very clean.
We were right on the mountain, which our goal in picking this place. It was very clean and there were plenty of towels. There was a refrigerator and microwave and a small place to eat. It’s an older place and not very fancy or luxurious, but very peaceful and comfortable. My only complaint is after a long a day of hiking there was not enough hot water for both of us to finish a shower. We would stay here again.
The property was built in 1957. Therefore it is old. However it's like stepping into an old classic movie. Bathroom fixtures were new, appliances were new, bed was comfortable. So if plush isnt required, its a nice quiet & safe place to stay. However the worst part was check in. Which gives you a negative & frustrating first impression. No one was in the office upon our arrival at 3:15, even tho check in time said 3 pm. There is a sign on the door that says if no one in the office call this number. But there is no cell service at the resort unless on wifi. We had to leave the property to locate a place with a land line that allowed us to make a phone call. Once we made the call, we were told our room was ready and unlocked with key in the door. It was unlocked with a key on the table inside. We were told that office personnel was over an hour away from lodge. This frustration could have been resolved 2 different ways. If the note on the door would have included wifi password to use if cell coverage wasnt available, we would have been in our room within 5 min. But the best form of communication should have been sent via email or text on the day of arrival that our room (give room number) would be open & waiting on us at 3 pm. I hope they will incorporate one or both of these ideas for future guest. I would stay there again even after this fiasco because we enjoyed the stay. I would call prior to driving up the mtn for check in instructions.
Quaint family owned motel. It needs a few more amenities such as more furniture. More places to sit like a love seat, more flat surfaces for setting items down.More electrical outlets. More security for entrance door such as a deadbolt. Under bed was dusty. There was no nightstand on one side of bed. Bed was comfortable and AC was more than adequate. The price was great and we would probably rent again.
No one was there when we went to check in. There was a number to call but there was no cell service. Had to drive almost 5 miles to get service to call. We were told our room # and that the door was unlocked. When we got in the room it was a disappointment. The carport was beyond worn and the bathroom was not acceptable. The property as a whole was old and not well maintained. We didn’t not stay. I preferred to lose the money from our reservation.
We arrived at the location and there was no one there. There was a sign on the door that said to call. Since there is no cell service there, we had to go to the State Park to call them. They had a lovely greeting on the phone and said to leave a message however, the voice mailbox was full! We went back two more times and called numerous times, with no response. Thank goodness we had booked through hotels.com as they were able to get us a different location. Please note it has no association with the state park lodging.
The staff and place speaks for itself. Quiet, convenient, place with a family owned friendly staff. We will continue to come back to this place every time we hike.
Motel is very run down. The walls in your room are cement brick with very little decoration. You have an air conditioner unit that does not work properly, the pool is small with peeling tiles. The woman who runs the office is very nice, but her husband is not friendly at all. The only nice thing about this place is the location, you are .2 miles from the state park.

It was fine. The room was neat and clean. It is an older motel that has been renovated as much as an older motel can be. The grounds were freshly mowed and beautiful. It was quiet and felt safe. The pool, and the area around the pool, could use some trash pickup and cleaning of the pool. Staff were very pleasant. Coffee was a bit of an issue as it was single size coffee pods for a full sized coffee maker but there is a beautiful, little coffee house just up the road. I would stay again.
Just fyi: there is no groceries or gas on the mountain and it's about 25 minutes to Morrilton.
We love this place! The vibes were just right. We liked the room decor and the beds. The rooms were clean, did not have any issues. The host were very friendly and made us feel welcome and at home. We grilled and swam and gathered at the end of our day at the camp fire and made some new friends. Its surrounded by giant pines and we could not get enough of that. The property was so pretty we liked to sit and just take it all in. Sunsets were amazing and we saw some deer. Will for sure stay again!
