Very relaxed atmosphere, a pity about the mosquitoes.

Way over-priced for what it is.
Run down.
Not that “Tranquil” when a heap of dogs camp right outside your accommodation and bark their heads off numerous times in the night, and mice get into your stuff.
Not that “Eco” with rubbish everywhere, so many dogs, mice and rats, diesel generator, solar lights that only work during the day.
Staff were lovely tho. Food and wine were good.

We regret to hear of Sharon’s complaint, we have no problem with the solar lights unless guests leave them on during the day when the batteries are being charged, the generator is advertised in the information folder in each room and normally mentioned by the staff that it is only being run for two hours in the morning and two hours again in the afternoon. There is a plastic box in the fare for guests to put any food that they might have in their bags as we do have Polynesian rats that live in the coconut trees and are endemic to every island in the Pacific but they will eat other food as well as the coconuts. We regularly poison them around the resort area which keeps them at bay for about one month at a time but then they forage for other food after that hence the fare box. We have two dogs that like to adopt guests and become protective of them and another sometimes joins them. They do sometimes bark if any intruders come near the guests including the occasional wild pig or other bush dogs who may be walking down the pathway and in some cases village people who may be fishing. Near the shore. They are very friendly dogs and some guests do encourage them to stay with them at the fares and are happy for their company. One dog in particular loves to act as a tour guide and takes people on bush walks when they want to explore. We do have a problem with some rubbish as we are on a lee shore and anything that is thrown or washed into the water from the mainland ends up on our shore each tide, this is normally picked up daily and is either burnt or packed in plastic garbage bags to come back to town for disposal For Sharon, we looked after her with her special dietary request . She did enjoy scuba diving. We think that maybe tranquility may not be the right sort of place for Sharon to enjoy.

Tranquility was just perfect. Everything from the transfers to and from Port Vila to the delicious meals and very hospitable staff and locals. There is so much to see and do right at your door step. We particularly loved the snorkelling and small day hikes to different reefs. We loved it and most certainly will be back. Thank you

Setting bungalow positions and coral reef were excellent. Staff were friendly, but the bungalows were dilapidated rundown with zero maintenance and I could not recommend this place to anybody to stay overnight.

Hello David,Thank you for your comment about the reefs and the staff. However, we are really shocked about this review. You stayed with us for a week and never mentioned any problems. Our bungalows are made in traditionally Vanuatu style but still are very well maintained and comfortable, solar lights and brand new power plugs, hot water, new mosquito nets... Tranquility is an eco-resort and might be not suitable for people expecting very fancy buildings and equipment like on a 5 stars resort. We would like you to send us an email and tell us exactly what problem you encounter so we can improve, instead of leaving a very unfair and destructive review.

Tranquility is a beautiful, relaxing base to explore the island. The bungalows are clean and situated on private beaches. Hosts were warm, friendly and extremely helpful. Beautiful pups to keep you company during your stay.

Beautiful setting with fantastic snorkeling right outside your fare door.
The staff were friendly and helpful and it's a unique chance to see turtles up close in and out of the water.

A very special experience
Publié le 11 août 2018 sur HotelsThis is definitely not a 5 star resort, but we enjoyed it so much more than our posh resort we stayed at next in Port Vila. That resort was still good of course, but compared to the serenity and privacy we enjoyed at Tranquillity Island Resort - we wish we had chosen to stay here longer.
We chose the traditional style 'fare' so as to fully enjoy the ambience of our surroundings - the beach just steps away, and any neighbouring guests enjoying their own piece of paradise in total seclusion - once we had all deviated from the main track where the endangered juvenile Coconut Crabs were encouraged to feed and could be seen in the evenings.
Our room was basic (as we expected) and very comfortable, although we spent most of our time on our balcony enjoying the view. We opted for the full meal package, and was not at all disappointed with the fresh and tasty meals this provided for us, and we certainly never went hungry. In fact the food was delicious, and we fell madly in love with the coffee they had - not caring at all that they had to use powdered milk.
The managers, Sun and Joe, were always lovely and helpful, and their passion for caring for the environment was obvious. All the staff were great, and always had big happy smiles.
A wonderful place to snorkel or dive (they have their own dive facilities), walk along the beach or inland, or just chill out and do nothing at all. Our personal highlight had to be releasing a Hawksbill Turtle as part of their conservation program.

Lovely few nights
Publié le 2 mai 2018 sur ExpediaTranquility was a lovely simple resort. The room was comfortable and had everything you needed. The food was slightly expensive, but is comparable to Port Vila. Joe and Sun were excellent hosts and made the experience easy and enjoyable. I would recommend this resort for a few nights away from the busy city.
