Good experience but over priced
Publié le 9 août 2024 sur HomeAwayThis was a nice house private house with private and secluded beach access. The house was well appointed but a bit cluttered. Too much furniture and the kitchenware was dated but it had a cozy feel. There was an odd musty smell that with us for the week probably due to the AC leaking and soaking the dining room rug, property manager was alerted and didn’t seem too concerned. We had a nice time and a comfortable stay but the house was priced too high and wasn’t as well kept as pictures showed. Newer nicer homes in are for same price point.

The musty smell likely came from the air conditioning unit which will leak when guests go against house rules and lower the temperature below 72 degrees. This is unnecessary unless the air conditioning is run with the doors open, which should never happen. People don't even do this in their own home. The unit will freeze up blocking the drain line and leak out of the unit in the room onto the floor. As far as too much furniture being in the house is concerned, we often have up to 12 guests staying at Aqua Dreams and think it is only right to have sufficient comfortable seating for all of them and professionally arranged. Not sure what is meant by "dated kitchenware" since we have had glowing reviews about the kitchen appliances and cookware by professional chefs who said "they lacked for nothing". All of the living room furniture, three sofas and a large chair had just been reupholstered two months ago. We check our pricing is make sure it is comparable to other properties with comparable amenities, which few have. For example, only one other home in our neighborhood has an emergency generator which any owner who cares about the comfort of their guests would do. Our private pool, not shared, is heated which is rare on the island. We also have a reverse osmosis drinking water system, as well as ultra violet water and air treatment system installed on all AC units, where a number of homes do not. We work hard to make sure our guests are as protected as we can make them. We just ask that they follow the rules, which looks like was not done. Disappointing to say the least.

A Wonderful Vacation!
Publié le 20 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayFour couples just spent 8 nights at Aqua Dreams House. We had a wonderful stay and the house had everything we needed plus more!! This was our 10th visit to Exuma and this by far was the nicest place that we stayed at and on one of the nicest beaches on the island. The beach is just a very short walk on a paved walkway and well worth it! The beach was never crowded and the waters beautiful and calm. The house had plenty of room for all of us. We especially enjoyed all of the room we had around the pool, whether you wanted to be in the sun or if you needed the shade, there was plenty of both with umbrellas for cover. The owner, Marna, was highly responsive from the day we booked the house to the minute we left. We did have one issue with the house that needed attention and we were able to get in touch with the owner within the hour, and a temporary fix to get us through our stay was done immediately, without imposing on our rental of the house. Another wonderful benefit to staying at this house is that it had a full house generator, which kicked on about a minute after we lost power one night. That is definitely not a perk in any of the houses we have ever stayed, and in the Bahamas power goes out often, no matter what island you stay on. The location is right across from the airport, which was very convenient. The house is in the middle of the island, which made for a quick drive to get groceries, restaurants, etc. All in all, we had a wonderful, relaxing vacation!

Aqua Dreams Spring Break
Publié le 10 avr. 2024 sur HomeAwayAqua dreams was beautiful, had everything we needed. The hot tub and pool are great. It is in a great location close to the airport. When our flight was delayed, Marna was very kind and accommodating, letting us hang there well past our checkout time. Mechelle is the hostess with the mostest! She was always available and right there on the spot for anything we needed. We are very thankful to the owners and Mechelle for a wonderful vacation.

Wonderful family vacation
Publié le 5 avr. 2024 sur HomeAwayMy husband and I brought our 4 kids (ages 10-16) for spring break and his 50th birthday. We had an amazing time. Mechelle the property manager made sure we were taken care of. The home owner also was prompt to reply with any questions we had. The house, pool, and beach were beautiful. The only recommendation we would have is to downsize the “clutter” of the house, less pillows, furniture, small carpets, etc. It made the house seem cramped. Overall would highly recommend staying at this house!

It's important to remember we can and do accommodate up to twelve people who, when looking to get comfortable in the living area seating with pillows are grateful those pieces of decor are there for their comfort. Should you decide to come again with the same size party, we'll remove some of the pieces to accommodate you. Glad you enjoyed your stay.

Exuma is Paradise!

Aqua Dreams is perfectly located just a few minutes from the airport and on a quiet street right on the beach. This house is equipped with everything you could think of and more. By far the best stocked house we have ever rented. Ashley our on site host and her husband are fantastic. Lovely, spacious home in Paradise.

We loved the beautiful beaches and our boat excursion was exceptional. Our Private Chef was phenomanal. All the locals were kind, helpful, and just really pleasant.

Family vacation

Marna always stayed in touch to make sure we had everything we needed. The location was perfect and very close to the beach. The house had so many extras like pool and beach floats, a cooler, hot tub, beach chairs, spices, and much more!! We would definitely recommend this rental!

Worst vacation ever
Publié le 9 juill. 2023 sur HomeAwayLocation is great, house is in need a many updates and repairs. Guest house inhabitable as it was flooded and smelled horrible. Listing says 2 king bedrooms with twins. Only one bedroom has a twin and king bed is not in good condition. White pleather couches have covers on them because all the white pleather is coming off and the covers do not fit couches and very uncomfortable to sit on. Not a place for small children as living room is very congested. All white floors and all white furniture . Our family vacation was completely ruined as we did not have enough room for everyone and had to make other arrangements last minute and harassed by owner. Master bedroom does not cool properly and you will be charged if you lower the thermostat, we asked for a fan but did little to help. The other rooms AC worked well. But do to water dripping on our heads in Master bed from HVAC and the threat of being charged for lower the thermostat we had to vacate. How upsetting for a family on vacation. How sad its a beautiful location and just needed renovated and updated.

Every owner of a vacation property has guests they suspect may be a problem and Kris was one of ours. Her visit began the day our previous guests who gave a five star review were leaving after using both main and guest house for a week.
We suspected Kris was going to be a difficult reservation before she and her party arrived as she created an issue about the number of people in her party which was actually not an issue. She said she had eight in her party which our four king bedrooms and two additional twins would easily accommodate. We also have two queen sofa beds.
Sure enough, on the first day of her arrival Kris declared "We can't stay here!" and things went downhill from there.
The air conditioning was leaking due to the guests going against the house rules and lowering the thermostat below temperatures which we knew from experience as well as from the air conditioning manufacturer would cause issues which can cause the equipment to malfunction.
Because the upholstery on one of our living room sofas was beginning to flake, we covered the sofa with a temporary cover until the replacement sofa which has been ordered arrives. In fact, we also got matching covers for the other sofas to coordinate them.
A guest who is so angry at the host they will urinate in a bathroom drawer is one no host will want to rent to. It appears that Kris was looking for a free vacation and we can only wonder how many other hosts she has attempted to pull this on.

Family Vacation

Myrna is super responsive and answers any question you might have quickly, and you also have Cleo who comes by and shows you around the property and is an excellent on-site representative. Our family didn’t need a thing, but between Myrna and Cleo it would have been taken care of. This provides peace of mind at a home far away from home.
