Quiet and comfortable
Publié le 19 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayOverall enjoyed our stay at Gardencourt cottage. Quiet, comfortable, and fairly close to Acadia park hiking and restaurants in area. Owner lives next store in attached cottage. Overall good place. Only suggestion would be to provide laundry soap so don’t have to purchase just for two loads.

I’m so glad you enjoyed your stay. We left a few tide pods in a bowl in the cabinet but we should make it more obvious. I will add that to our welcome instructions. We appreciate the feedback.

Mt. Desert Island
Publié le 7 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe home is on a very quiet gravel road in Somesville neighborhood of Mt. Desert Island. It is close to Beech Mtn Trail which is less known/ crowded and very beautiful. It is about a 20-25 minute drive to Jordan Pond, Ocean Trail, Cadillac Mtn. The house was well equipped and perfect for a family of 4. We saw turkeys, deer, chickens in the yard.

Acadia 2024
Publié le 19 août 2024 sur HomeAwayGreat place to spend exploring Acadia National park. The location is secluded and private, very quite, feels like you are in the woods, but yet everything within short drive. We loved it!

Convenient Location
Publié le 25 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayThank you Heather, Priscilla and John. We just spent 7 nights at the Garden Court it was very roomy cozy and clean with private little court yard that had a picnic table, grill and chairs. It was great we just brought our clothing, groceries and hiking gear. We enjoyed our days hiking and our evenings relaxing. Beech Mt. just down the Rd is the best place to watch sunset from with beautiful views from beech loop trail.

Beautiful spot near Somesville
Publié le 21 sept. 2023 sur HomeAwayWe thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Gardencourt! It was bright and cheerful with a big kitchen table to gather around and a comfortable living area. The bedrooms were nicely decorated with comfortable beds. There was a private patio for lounging outdoors.
The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. There were plenty of soft towels.
We especially liked the location. The house was on a very private street near Somesville, so it was central to all points on the island. It was a short drive to Southwest Harbor to Beal’s Lobster Pound or a little farther to Thurston’s Lobster Pound in Bernard. The Loop Drive was a short drive in the other direction.
This property is the first floor of a house and the owners are sometimes living upstairs. They are delightful people, and we hardly knew they were there. They left a nice jar of jelly as a welcome gift.
This is a great place for home base for a visit to Acadia National park!

Convenient location to everything on Mt. Desert Island!
Publié le 14 sept. 2023 sur HomeAwayWe really enjoyed our stay at Gardencourt on the quiet side of the island! We found that Google Maps doesn't recognize the address as Pondfield Lane, but does recognize Pond Field Lane to give you the correct directions. It is centrally located, and driving to Bar Harbor and the Loop were easy drives within 15 to 20 minutes. We had a wonderful time driving to all of the little harbor towns on the quiet side, as well as walking on the trails. Echo Lake is a short distance, and we saw and heard the loons in the evening! Definitely stop at the lakes/ponds as they are beautiful! There are lots of restaurants and shops, especially in Southwest Harbor and Northeast Harbor, which are not as crowded as Bar Harbor, and parking is free! The Maine Granite Museum is less than a mile away and is very interesting! Gardencourt was very clean and well-equipped with everything we needed. We were welcomed with a jar of blueberry jam and a map of Acadia Park. Lots of other helpful info was supplied on the desk. We were very comfortable and saw deer and turkey just outside the kitchen window about every morning. If you like peace and quiet, we highly recommend staying here! Thanks Vanessa!
