Underwhelming overpriced basement
Publié le 2 août 2024 sur HomeAwayFirstly, when i booked the property it DID NOT MENTION that we were staying in the basement. A day before of my arrival i receive pictures and title that said bottom suite. At that point it was too late to book something else. My family was extremely disappointed. From the basement you can barely see the views with high grass outside. The next morning we had the spectic tank alaram go off. Due to low water levels, we were afraid of running out of water so only person had the chance to shower. That alarm was so unsettling to my elderly parents. It went on for 3 hours until we decided to look for keys and go in the control room to turn it off. Not sure why the upstairs tentdants are the only ones with the access to the control room. We were not notified that the water can not be used for drinking. With an infant thats important information to know. Had to go out to purchase water. When we first walked in the beds were not made properly and the sheets didn't look washed. Later we saw there was no laundry detergent either. I messaged and asked if the sheets were washed with detergent and i received a generic response. There was no follow up with the cleaner at all. The check out instructions were basically to clean the whole basement, from taking out the garbage, to washing and putting away dishes, placing everything in laundry to be washed. Not sure why we are getting charged a hefty fee for cleaning. We left the basement cleaner than we had received it (have pictures to prove)

We do appreciate having your group but I feel it important to correct some of the statements made here. The title of the VRBO listing for that booking is "Brand new beautiful home with best view outside of Waterton Park. BOTTOM suite." (caps are in the title). The "about this property" section on VRBO states "This is the LOWER suite of this two level house." (caps published there as well). The amazing view is present for both upper and lower suites as displayed in photographs for anyone to see.
As water and septic has to be hauled to lakefront properties, there is an alarm that gives us a 1 day heads-up. The service crew were there the next morning and there was no requirement to ration water. We had sent a message explaining the process in advance so it would not be surprising. There were also instructions on how we could help you gain access if the alarm sounded when the upper visitors were gone. There isn't regular access by both suites in order to keep your suite secure.
When notified that laundry detergent was out we had more there (a smaller amount) within hours, and a full new box delivered to your doorstep the next morning.
We hate to see things misrepresented or misunderstood and hope this clarifies things for you and clears up some of the facts for others considering a visit to this great spot.

Absolutely beautiful place to stay. Sunset views are like something off a postcard.
One note... if you are staying in the downstairs suite and the upstairs suite has a lot of kids running around, it's going to be noisy.

Clean home with lovely views

Great location for a short drive to Waterton. Lake was great for swimming and fishing. Host was easy to get ahold of when needed. Nice convenience to have the washer and dryer.

May long wkd stay
Publié le 27 mai 2022 sur HomeAwayLovely new home with fantastic view of Payne Lake & mountains. Short drive to Waterton. Stayed with husband & our 2 married children & their families. Comfortable beds, high ceilings, windows, etc added to the pleasant stay. Landscaping needs to be completed around house (soggy wkd = muddy shoes.). For now a boot scraper would help. Nice grass path to lake. Owner responsive to missing kitchen item, thanks! We would stay again.

Great location. Annoyed from upstairs renters
Publié le 16 juill. 2021 sur HomeAwayWe loved our stay for one day. Once the people upstairs arrived with their young children, unfortunately was no longer pleasant. From 7am until 10pm was non stop running,screaming, jumping and dragging things along the floor.
Beautiful home but unfortunately not relaxing for us at all. Thank you for having us.

We're glad you were able to take in the beautiful home and surroundings. We regret the experience with your neighbors and wished we'd been notified in case we could've helped. We did invest in additional sound blocking insulation when we built this new home to minimize these kinds of concerns. Thanks for coming to visit!
