SSVR2-Spacious, Downtown Munising Apartment

Welcome to Munising Michigan, the home of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Waterfalls, Boat Cruises, Scenic Tours, and some great Yooper Pasties! Located downtown close to all the local attractions this newly remodeled apartment comes complete with two bedrooms, full bath, open concept kitchen and living space, wifi, and cable tv. This apartment is perfect for short or long stays, whether you are passing through on vacation, or coming up for work and looking for furnished housing. We have recently added a grill outback for guest use, this is shared with unit #1 as well. There is a firepit and seating that is also shared with the other guests staying in the units. Pet friendly for dogs up to 30lbs, 2 dog limit and there is a $53/pet fee plus a one time $30 cleaning charge. Located on the 2nd Floor, the stairwell includes 21 steps to access the units. Larger groups can rent more than one unit in the building if needed, there is a total of 4. Call us for more information.

**PETS! Airbnb may only charge you for the 1st pet, you will be requested to send an additional $50 plus tax ($53) per pet. Our pet policy is $50/pet plus tax plus an additional one time cleaning charge of $30. If Airbnb does not collect this amount you are still responsible. Wonderful vacation!
We loved it! It was a bit smaller than all six of us are used to with only one bathroom and two bedrooms but we made it work. The only complaint I have is that there were 6 of us and only 4 bowls - so cereal in the morning was a problem and ice cream at night! Other than that it was very clean and felt like home. The kids bedroom door would not stay closed so they put a bag in front of the door. And clear tape in the shower was weird but it worked just fine. Overall I would stay there again if I was going to vacation that direction again.

Vacation
We had a great time on our vacation. Explored the waterfalls, trails and Pictured Rocks. You must ride "Rip Tide" What a blast! Ate a lot of good food. Especially the white fish. Loved it! The apartment was like home away from home. Apartment manager was awesome too. We'll be back. :)

Pictured Ticks & waterfalls friends trip
We trailered our boat to Sault Saint Marie & Munising to do sault locks & pictured rocks tours on our own and check out the waterfalls. Apt was in a good location. We were able to walk to restaurants & local bars which was nice since we had our boat. The apt was clean. Our only complaints were the beds. Very uncomfortable and sqeeky. The furniture was also stained worn. Would definitely recommend replacing the beds. And consider replacing the couch’s & chair.

Downtown Munising
The apartment is directly downtown. Be aware that in the directions it stated to look for the business directly below the rental. That business is no longer there and vacant. Property management should update to make it easier to locate. Maps on your cellphone did not work well in the area, so having updated directions is key. The apartment sleeps four comfortably, but the couch is shorter, and not big enough to have a teen sleep on (it does not have a pull out bed in the couch). There is not a washer and dryer, which with a VRBO is pretty standard, so just make note. There is a laundromat we used down the road, which worked for us, but was inconvenient. The place was very clean, had a full kitchen with supplies and in a fantastic location. The stairs to the apartment may not be for those that struggle physically with limitations. It was close to great restaurants and accommodated our two dogs, which is always a win to be dog-friendly. I would recommend to family/friends.

Perfect location for Pictured Rocks
We really enjoyed staying at this home. Location was perfect for visiting Pictured Rocks NP and taking a cruise. I've never stayed in a home with as many blankets and towels. What a wonderful gift. Everyone was warm and comfortable.

Great location
Location was perfect, apartment was a great space for my family of 6. No complaints at all. Only minor suggestion maybe leave a broom or swiffer for guest to sweep or knock down cob webs of unwanted guest ( spiders). Will definitely recommend!

Nice place. Wish it had been cleaner.
The location is great! Beaches are close, Pictures Rocks is 15 minutes away. Numerous waterfalls and lovely hikes are close by. Updated kitchen and appliances. The owners have made an effort to make it welcoming and comfortable. The cleanliness of the unit is a drawback. There is no dishwasher (which is not pointed out in the description) so the cleanliness of all dishware, glasses and cookware is questionable. There is no broom so no way to clean up the sand on the floor during the week. In the guestroom there are numerous dead flies and alive spiders in-between the window and in the room! The guest room also needs blackout curtains to address the bright streetlight. The majority of these items could all be improved upon with a regular, thorough cleaning and the addition of a dishwasher in the island. We expected with the substantial cleaning fee that cleanliness wouldn't be an issue.

Just so-so, especially considering the high cost
The good: location is nice, the place was clean and has been partialy updated. The bad: the entrace and walls were filthy and disgusting (not a good way to start our visit off), both bedrooms had 2 star mattresses that were worn out and creak every time you move. Also the bedroom doors stick/pop when opened so you get an interesting situation where anytime someone gets up at night everyone else gets an ear full of creaking mattress then a pop from the door... going AND coming! Lastly, the queen bedroom's a/c barely worked so we slept hot all 3 nights. Exorbitantly priced for what you get, then they want you to take out the trash AND strip the beds when you leave!

Great location !
The property had everything we needed for our short stay. My husband and I and four children had a comfortable stay. It was spacious and mostly clean. I’m kind of picky and found crumbs on the furniture and bedside tables and a dirty island when we got there. Not a huge deal but something I noticed right away. I would recommend this property for sure .

Was hoping to use Munising and this property in particular as a home base of sorts for a trip in/around the UP, and this listing is absolutely perfect for that. Right in the middle of pretty much everything, maybe 20 minutes from the Pictured Rocks area, but within walking distance of restaurants/breweries/coffee shops. Property was clean and exactly as pictured. Plenty of room with some updates, especially in kitchen and bath. Owners communicated expectations and instructions in a timely manner. Would love to return to this area and this property in the future!

Newly renovated 2 bedroom apt in downtown Munising
We had a great stay - the apartment is in a perfect location for a Munising/ Pictured Rocks vacation. Very nicely decorated and recently updated - everything you need. Beds were comfortable. Nice TV selections; internet included. It is a long flight of stairs upstairs so not handicapped accessible. The host gave us great suggestions for places to go in the area. Highly recommend will definitely stay here again.

This property is in a great location for a home-base for the upper peninsula. Most everything is within 1.5 hrs with some exceptions. The apartment was appropriate and the property manager was attentive and helpful. We would consider this location again.

Hidden gem in great location in Munising to explore Pictured Rocks
We enjoyed staying in this chic, renovated apartment right in Munising. Don't be put off by the dirty carpet that needs vacuuming nor the smell of cigarette smoke as you walk up the stairs to the unit (there are other units not rented out by Pictured Rocks in the building). Unit 2 is pristine inside. This was our first trip since COVID started and I was nervous about being in a space that had been occupied recently by others. However it was evident that the unit was very clean. It is well appointed and in a great location to walk to local restaurants such as the Fish Basket and Taco Trio as well as Miner's ice cream. Suggestions: 1. The tub drain does not work properly so water pools in it as you are showering-this needs to be fixed. 2. Provide room darkening shades in the bedroom with one bed similar to the shade in the bedroom with two beds, especially since you can't close the curtain while the window air conditioning unit is on. In addition, the curtains when closed let in light so you awaken with the sun. We have already recommended this hidden gem to friends.
