Excellent stay

Thank you for coming and enjoying the place. That shower is first on our list once we get past fall foliage visits! Amazing waterfall retreat
Publié le 17 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayI surpised my husband with this trip. He loves being by water and waterfalls and this place did not disappoint. Listening to that water is so great, especially at night looking up at the stars. We had a great trip and Robin was very responsive with any questions. Would stay here again for sure.

Very cozy getaway
Publié le 2 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe loved our stay, it's so beautiful and cozy. The perfect getaway from the city, the waterfall right outside was just the best thing ever. We only had concern about 2 things: the deck, it's very old and not maintained it didn't feel completely safe. The shower head is very low pressure, it's basically a mist and made it difficult to shower. The host is very responsive we had an issue that they resolved as soon as possible.

Layla, We're so glad you and your family found our cottage and enjoyed your vacation there. We have had the deck looked at and while it is structurally sound we understand the wooden decking in the waterfall environment has not proved ideal. We do love our place and take our guests safety very seriously and have contracted to have the deck boards replaced with composite during the off season. We hope you'll come back and enjoy the new deck next year. As for the shower head it is an aerated low flow shower head compatible with our well water use, I'm sorry it wasn't to your liking. Thank you for sharing your concerns so others have a fuller picture of what renting our place is.

Beautiful riverside cabin

While there are no bedrooms pre saw in the cottage, the loft has 1 full queen/ on bedposts, and 3 queen on floor in second peak (peak is short for 6’ tall adults & window doesn’t open) the loft has a slider to a small deck - super cute! And a half bath - convenient for mid night use 👍. The rest of the cottage is beautiful- lots of room and large table, kitchen is nicely packed with whatever you need. The shower head needs to be updated but the bathroom is huge on main level - whirlpool tub inside (we thought there was a hot tub, but no). The decking is a little soft, but large and lets you feel like you’re right in the river. A great location - easy drive to everything. Oh and there is a little fairy door by the kitchen - adorable! If we ever go back to this location we will for sure try to rent again here!

Pleasant Retreat

Overall we had a great time in a fantastic location with a very responsive host.

A Perfect Place

It's a stunning, comfortable and exceptional retreat situated near one of the most beautiful pieces of land I've seen. You can feel the love Robin and her family have for the nature that surrounds in the little touches throughout the house, both in being eco friendly but also in the decor. My two sisters and I have never been happier together in this slice of paradise.

Beautiful property! However….
Publié le 4 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe could not wait for our trip to the Firefly cottage. If it was anything like the photos on Vrbo, it was sure to be a delightful. And it was just as pictured. The great room had a wall of windows looking out to the creek and waterfall. The bed was comfy (once we figured out that it was a sleep number). The sheets and towels were all soft and the pillows were terrific.
However, we began to notice some small things that needed attention. There were some loose boards on the porch, and two lounge chairs were threadbare and needed replacing. The window sills were dirty and had dead bugs on them when you opened the windows. We found expired and old products throughout the house. The place needs a good old fashioned deep cleaning.
Robin failed to let the guests arriving to the main house know that we were staying in the cottage. They were very nice, but they said that Robin told them that they could use the porch by the cottage because no one was staying there. The woman read Robin’s note to us. Robin did apologize.
But it got really weird when one of the bathrooms ran out of toilet paper and I asked Robin if I missed it somehow. Instead of assuming that I wouldn’t have asked if we had enough, I was “schooled” on how I was wrong and people steal it and her family of five go through one roll in two weeks. I don’t recall ever having to defend our bathroom needs in any establishment. It was weird and awkward and unnecessary. if you stay, bring your own soap and toilet paper.

Our chaises are thread bare, if anyone knows how to replace slings please let me know, my upholsterer couldn't figure it out. And our deck is in a rough environment and we're saving for a replacement, it's going to be great but is functional and right on the waterfall now. As for the rest, we try to be generous, kind and accommodating and occasionally we get busy and mess up! I'm truly sorry your stay was not to your ideal.

3rd Visit
Publié le 23 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayThis is such a relaxing place that this is our 3rd time coming. Fun Summer Tidbit - bring beach chairs and they stay perfectly on the flat rocks in the creek allowing the very cold but refreshing water cool off your feet while you read and relax. Heavenly
