Super charming and great location

This is the second unit on the property; during our stay, the owner was not in the front house, so it was very private. If total privacy is important, I recommend checking before booking.

Cute place, great location
Publié le 23 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayThis cottage is as it is described, right close to downtown Murphys, quaint and comfortable. An issue with the cleaning not getting done was unfortunate and left us with an unmade bed and a pile of dirty sheets and towels and Full garbage bins in our place for the entire stay. We did get refunded our cleaning fee and were offered for someone to come to clean our first night after 7 but we were already settled in. The local businesses in Murphys are great and calaveras big trees is a gem.

I’m glad that for the most part you enjoyed your stay. The housekeeper was very apologetic on the cleaning mixup thinking you were arriving the next day, since as you’ll see in other reviews, we are usually complemented on how clean the cottage is. Cute cottage
Publié le 15 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe picked this location because of its proximity to downtown Murphy’s. Everything was walkable which so nice.
The parking at the rental wasn’t great. The listing speaks of ample street parking but it’s a narrow street so I didn’t love feeling like my car could get side swiped at any moment.
The cottage itself was adorable. There were a lot of nice touches like fall decor, welcome snacks, awesome water pressure and fresh flowers.
On the feedback side, there wasn’t Kleenex. Luckily I had some in my bag. There was also a broken lock on one of the bedroom windows. It’s a safe location but I still don’t love that. There was also an ironing board and no iron so thankfully I had packed an alternative shirt to wear. It’s also literally in someone’s backyard so when the family at the main home was there, it was a bit awkward when we were coming and going.

Glad you enjoyed the cottage but I'm sorry to hear the set-up didn't work for you. My comment about ample parking is that we usually have 2-3 spots right in front of the house. We've never had a car sideswiped, even though it could feel that way. Thank you for letting me know a window lock was broken, and it sounds like someone walked off with the iron, and we will get those addressed. Yes, the cottage is at the back of a 1/3 acre lot. But you do walk through a gate that is next to our house, and I'm sorry to hear that had you feel awkward, since we do try to be very respectful of our guests.

My wife and I consider this to be one of the “Best VRBOS”
we have ever stayed in after a decade of using VRBOs. The hosts, when we arrived, gave us fresh flowers,
a snack gift tray and new cream for coffee people!!!
The place was beautiful and very unique - Totally matching what my wife and I call “The Murphys Vibe” - This cottage is so cool….If you’re going to visit Murphys - Do not miss the chance of staying here - You will not regret it!!!!

The Sequel

The amenities are great, and it just a peaceful place to stay. This is the second time staying there, and the owner is responsive and really great to work with. I look forward to staying there again.
