BED BUGS
Publié le 28 juin 2023 sur HotelsWe booked one night for a stop at Nandi before to take our plane on the morning. We arrived late and leaved early and all hotels around were full, so we didn’t have the choice… but it was TERRIBLE
The room was infested with BED BUGS : I found a living bed-bug in the sheets, excrements and eggs of bed-bugs in the bedhead. I also inspected the mattress : bed bugs carapaces.
I mean, bed bugs in a hotel is not the fault of the staff, as those insects are spread by guests bagages, but when you see bed bugs evidences, you do something : here, the level of infestation looks so high that maybe they just don’t care… if you read the comment on this hotel on internet, you’ll see that I’m not the only one to report the bed-bugs issue.
Also the room was not very clean, the sheets were really dirty, with dark spots on it, like if they have not been cleaned for a while. Furnitures were « greasy ».
The staff is really nice and helpful however, but looks a bit lost : when we kindly ask for towels (why towels are not directly in the rooms by the way ?) we had the impression to ask for the moon. However they gave us the towels.
In summary, the only good point is that the price is cheap and the hotel is really 5-minutes walk from the airport. But even for a night or last-minute plan, I would say don’t go (or you’ll take the risk to have bugs-guests in your bagages coming back home…)

Bula Anonymous! We are a transit hotel, our staff ensures that our mattresses and bedding are not infested with bed bugs. Previous experiences show that bed bugs do travel. If you feel the need to have your clothes and bags thrown in our dryer before your onward passage, kindly let our staff know.We are moving from post-Covid to embracing a high increase of guest bookings, it is all work in progress for renovation works on the buildings and our solar hot water system. We are happy to report that we have new linens and all reviews given by our dear guests are taken on board positively. Kindly give us some time for a newly revamped look of Trans International Hotel.Thank you for your review, and we anticipate your kind patience and understanding in this matter. Please accept our heartfelt apologies for any inconvenience. Vinaka Vakalevu!

The plus here is that its very very conveniently close to the airport, you can just walk next door to Gateway Hotel and cross the road to the airport. Don't need a shady taxi driver to make you pay to drive you there. Room is very spacious. The curtains in the room are too small to cover the large wall window exposing the guest to the large overgrown abandoned empty bush land area right behind the door. Even there's no curtain on the glass part of the room door. Anyone can peek in and watch you from that part of the bush. Wouldn't recommend females travellingon alone. The reception/foyer area is smelly. The cushions are torn, lights are covered in mildew. The reception toilets are not clean with a makeshift lock. The taxi driver based there is shady, charging crazy taxi fare and calling his discount special rate. I asked around the locals what's the normal rate is like, his rate more than doubled the normal rate. Its sad to see the tourism industry exploiting tourists without offering value for their money by allowing shady dealings in the name of tourism. I wouldn't recommend this hotel. There’s an unease feeling about this place. I don't understand how such places are even allowed to operate or if there are regulations r criteria in place that constitute an 'international hotel' for them to meet before they're given license to operate. We checked out around 5am, so the key was given to the security guard who supposedly acted as the receptionist early hours of the morning.

Airport hotel, but some important items missing
Publié le 4 août 2024 sur HotelsIt is an airport hotel and it matches the price, so keep your expectations reasonable. However a few important items:
They say that wifi is available for a fee, but actually the wifi is only available in the reception and not in rooms (if you are a business traveller it is important to know this).
The airport shuttle is just that they will call a taxi for you.
Apparently none of the TVs work in the whole complex (?). So they took away all the remote controls and the TV in the room is just 'decorative'.
Some bleach in the bathrooms would do wonders for the place.
But overall it was exactly what was needed for a single night, however if we had known some of the above info we could have planned better. The patio looked nice and the outlook was quite pleasant so that was a nice surprise.
