The staff were friendly and very helpful, even to out of the ordinary rquests. The view was amazing and the accomadation was very comfortable.

Great View!

A rather funky, older, place. We were on the top floor with amazing views. Really made it all worth while. No lift though. Has all you need for a stay just by the water.

Clean apartment with plenty of space the view is lovely and situated close to the tavern and water. Older apartments could do with some updates. You Need to space out showers as the hot water unit is very small for a family.

Very comfortable 1 bedroom apartment, with everything required. Great location right on the river at the heads.

Never again

No one at reception when we arrived. Rang bell 3 times for no reaction. Rang number on door - answering machine. Eventually a guy wandered in - had been hosing down drive while we cooled our heels. Disgusted to see people in near by room had a large dog inside

I might have assumed that Robert wrote his review after a long drive and that he was weary and perhaps a little bit agitated. The fact that he posted the review after he left the following day, however, suggests that he may be just a bit impatient by nature. As Penny and I were away on the day Robert and his wife came to stay, I took the opportunity to review the security cameras to gain an insight into what may have occurred, in an effort to see what we might have done better. As it turned out, the evidence is somewhat different from the picture Robert paints. The business was being managed by Jess and our son, Richard, on the day in question and Jess left the office at 2.52pm - four minutes before Robert and his wife arrived. She actually drove to the shop for supplies, whilst Richard was hosing down the gutters in front of the building, to clear them of mud after the recent heavy rain. It was at that time (2.56.02pm) that Robert and his wife entered the office. They rang the doorbell the first time at 2.56.16pm and the second time at 2.57.21pm. They seem to have failed in their alleged third attempt about 2.58.40pm, as the doorbell did not sound. At 2.59.20pm, Robert commenced to call the office on his mobile and at 2.59.44pm his wife said "Here comes somebody now". At 3.00pm precisely, Richard entered the office and immediately apologised for the delay in getting to them. Accordingly, the time between Robert and his wife entering the office and Richard greeting them was just under four minutes. Richard clearly apologised several times, but Robert is seemingly rather unforgiving. His wife, on the other hand, remained pleasant throughout and appeared somewhat embarrassed by Robert's attitude. She seemingly sought to excuse Robert's abrupt manner on the basis that he was tired after the drive. It must be noted that Marcel Towers is a family owned and operated business and there is no necessity for us to man the office constantly. In fact, if we did that, nothing else would get done - such as cleaning up after the severe storms. We live in the house adjacent to the apartments and we respond to guests' arrivals as quickly as we can, depending upon where we may be in the complex at any given time. In relation to Robert's complaint regarding the presence of a dog inside a nearby apartment, we make no apology for having a number of per-friendly apartments, as many of our guests travel with their pets. The animals are always clean; on a flea and tick program and under the control of their owners at all times. Those apartments that are pet friendly are thoroughly cleaned after the pet departs and anyone with an aversion to occupying a pet-friendly apartment can be accommodated in one of our many non-pet friendly apartments. Interestingly, this is the first time in more than 21 years that we have had to respond to a review of this nature. As Robert is clearly not intending to come back, I suspect it may also be the only time I have to respond to such a
