A Great View
Publié le 20 janv. 2025 sur HomeAwayThe view was absolutely beautiful. The property had so much Potential. It did need Updating. When something went wrong, they did come down right away. Yes there were bugs But You are Practically Staying in the woods so of course there will be bugs. While we were there The whole island lost electricity. But since our place was on solar, we didn't have too much Of an issue. We did not like that the forth bedroom was separate from the house, but we made due.

Property not listed correctly

We enjoyed hosting you all, Juanita! I regret you skipped the section in the property description that reads… “I live in the upper level (main floor) of the rental so I will be available most of the time.”

Not a 10 but would do it again...
Publié le 8 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayI'll start by saying that depending on what you're looking for and how you adjust to things will determine how you feel about this place. The property is not new so if you're looking for a contemporary "shiny" and "fancy" vacation home, this isn't for you. There is a smell but I believe Jose gives fair warning in the property summary. The property is located in the mountains and there is moisture in the air so it's probably hard to permanently kill the smell. We purchased some Lysol and lit incense and candles as we enjoyed the amenities. That worked for us. Anything we didn't use we left for the next family hoping it will help them have a more enjoyable stay. There was a ball missing at the pool table but we still had fun playing on the pool table and swimming in the pool while listening to music we hooked up to the big speaker outside that was provided and eating pizza from the pizza truck up the road. The property is located about 40 minutes from Old San Juan. We enjoyed driving around and then coming back to the calm and relaxing place. The little frogs (I think they're called coqui) coming out of the drain of the bathroom by the entertainment area scared some family members but that's nature! Lol. The purpose of our trip was to visit Puerto Rico for the first time as a family to celebrate life and that we did. In summary, if you're looking for a low key place that is away from the hustle and bustle that has a scenic view, you should have a good time here. :)

Infested with bugs
Publié le 15 août 2024 sur HomeAwayThis property is old, outdated, and infested with bugs. The pictures are not a true representation of what is advertised. The owner gave us a gallon of bug repellant to spray the house ourselves after we informed him that there were bugs everywhere. There were ants, roaches, and huge spiders and it was scary for my young kids. They ended up having allergic reactions. The owner did not want to refund us.

This is a Tropical Island, insects are expected to be seen in a controlled manner. Next day of your arrival you complained that the ants had spoiled all your groceries, your husband told us you had to dispose of a box of donuts that was left on the kitchen counter.
At check in you were informed that Liberty was in the process of replacing the damaged cable that serviced the property and there was no internet, you said you could manage with your WiFi. Next you went through the property with my wife saying you were impressed with it and how much you were going to enjoy it.
Second day I received a message that you had left the property because of lack of internet.

Nice view and pool
Publié le 3 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayWe had a relaxing stay and enjoyed breakfast on the shaded patio. There are food trucks and a bar in walking distance and the host was very communicative. The home is well lived, but the AC in the 3 rooms worked well and we slept comfortably.

Wonderful stay, wonderful hosts

We wanted to be away from touristy areas and stay in a local neighborhood and we loved it. Kids loved the pool, extra room, pool, hammock and other activities in yard.

Family Vacation

It was nice to take a dip in the pool and relax after exploring the island. Jose also was able to recommend different places take at that we’re amazing. Would highly recommend.

Beautiful views in the mountains.

Located in a suburban city, you're further away from tourist attractions, but this is why we chose it. We wanted a place with mountain views and a pool to relax the last few days before we caught a flight out. This place has stunning views, a nice pool, and a fun outdoor space to relax. The house is really unique with plenty of space for a larger group. The host couple is incredibly kind, welcoming and quick to respond. We enjoyed the walk to a lovely breakfast and coffee spot each morning and the location to a number of incredible restaurants on the Ruta Gastronómica, food highway. The one complaint I had was that the place has quite a distinct musty smell, likely due to the moisture and humidity in the air. For someone who is quite sensitive to mildew, it was more difficult to sleep here and be inside with windows closed. We enjoyed our stay overall with gracious hosts and a glimpse into the more authentic areas of Puerto Rico.

Thank you Kristen for your stay. We enjoyed assisting you all. You are right, the humidity smell is peculiar to wet forest and it tends to last a couple of days. The fact that we are inland surrounded by trees, near a lake and it has been raining almost daily promotes the humid smell. Most of our guests book us specifically because our location for fishing, kayaking, bar hopping, views, hiking, and others. We can’t fight with Mother Nature!
