A Taste of Paradise…indeed!
Posted Mar. 18, 2024 on HotelsI enjoyed my 3 week stay at A Taste of Paradise, while here on business. It was a quiet, clean and safe place to rest after a long day’s work. The family that owns it were very friendly and helpful with all my questions about the home and local area. Beautiful beaches are all around but suggest you have a rental car. Amazing restaurants are all around too without having to venture into downtown Nassau. Some of my favorite restaurants were Bahamia, Kyma Seafood Grill, Southwest Diner and Bar and Cafe Channing Noelle & Patisserie!!!
I also enjoyed having a secure gate with a friendly staff to welcome you and announce any guests. I felt very welcomed and safe everywhere I went while here. Be sure to catch the weekly Junkanoo parade at the Atlantis Marina Village to get a glimpse of this energetic, cultural celebration!

You have the nerve to review this property and give it a 1-star when you completely overstayed your time. You booked the first 7 nights for two persons and tacked on another seven nights the day of your checkout. We would have already made the contracted cleaner aware of your check-in and check-out. You insisted that you do not need the place clean. This illicit skepticism is due to the tone in which you responded on the phone. You were prepared to book another 7 nights and this is when we realised that you had in excess of 10 persons sleeping and occupying the unit. You should be ashamed of yourself. I will ensure to let all property owners around know of your plans. I am sure this is not the first time you would have done something like this.

Real property description
Posted Nov. 26, 2022 on HotelsWhat was advertised was not completely true. None of the ceiling fans worked. We were only allowed to have the air conditioners running from a set time frame, which made the upstairs get hot quickly. You couldn’t leave phone or iPad chargers plugged in. The stove was completely unplugged. The beds were rock hard and actually made my back hurt. The property was very nice but all the rules to keep the owners electric bill low was ridiculous. I’m sorry but in my opinion, if your renting your property to people on vacation they shouldn’t have to worry about how long the air conditioning units are running and be uncomfortable.

This review is hilarious. It is obvious you did not stay at this property. Air conditioning and mobile charger policies described are far from the truth "Anonymous". You are required to turn off the air conditioning units when leaving the property. It is like turning off any other devices when leaving your own house. You are also required to unplug the mobile chargers when leaving or not in use to prevent fire.I will not continue responding to this review. an 8 out of 10 after all these ill things is testimony to your honesty.Thank you.

Pros - low cost option on a generally expensive island, proximity to Stuart cove’s diving shop. Good 24/7 security gate, and strong AC units.
Cons - we weren’t able to check in until 5pm, I tried to call Steve multiple times and he didn’t answer until the fourth or fifth time I called. We went to a restaurant to eat and kill time until he answered the phone. Also there is a general lack of amenities- no body soap or shampoo, there was no laundry detergent, the water pressure in the shower is very weak. The wifi also went in and out. And the roads surrounding the house were flooded.

Thank you Tal for allowing us to host you and company. We are pleased that you did find some pros with the unit. It is unfortunate, however, that the cons you pointed out are, for the most part, superfluous. We did refill the body wash/shampoo. There was more than enough available and it serves both purposes, if only you had asked. In relation to the check-in, while we tried to accommodate you for 3pm, please note that check-in was and is at 4pm. I was at the unit way before 4pm. We operate a Townhouse/vacation home. There is a super market next door. While we, from time time, provide detergent for our guests, it is the guests duty to purchase their own detergent for doing their laundry. at no place in our amenities did we promise detergents to guests. As it relates to the road and flooding when it rains hard, we do not have control over the roads. They are public and administered by the policy makers. Not sure why you would include this in a review of the property. The water pressure on the islands are generally provided through the government water company and is not the same pressure as you would tend to become accustomed to from where you are. I know it is your first visit. You will realise this fact the next time you decide to visit, and possibly another property.

This is not a hotel. It's attached to a private home where they monitor your every move. Very creepy and would not recommend. Communication was poor and distance is too far from public attractions.

It is unfortunate that even in reviewing our property the deception still exist. We did not rent the property to a Susan from New Orleans, rather, the property was booked by Lakeina Bonaby of Nassau, Bahamas for Two (2) persons.
Reservation was made on January 13th, 2020. We responded to Mrs. Bonaby on January 17th, 2020 at 6:13pm. Our response was read on January 18, 2020 at 10:10pm. We did not receive a message from Mrs. Bonaby.
The guest was checked in on February 28th, 2020, after 4pm by management, signifying that communication did take place, but more importantly, that property procedure information had been read and agreed to. Management was told that the booking was secure for the guest and her Husband. We were told, further, that said husband would arrive after 12am, and, as such, a couple friends will keep the guests company until husband would have arrived.
The friends did arrive after 8pm, after the guest would have left. We refused security clearance for the friends since we were not sure who they were and had not received any word from the guest as to their arrival without the guest being present.
On arrival, the guest entered the gates with two friends. Two cars were parked in the driveway. Before 9pm, the cars increased to five and twelve guests. We called the guest as a reminder, to explain again that the property was booked for two and is listed to accommodate a maximum of five persons. And, as described on the property page, we do not host events. While on the mobile phone talking to the guest, the security gate called requesting entrance for an additional two cars. We refused clearance, mentioned it to the guest and asked that the matter be addressed.
Much to our surprise, one of the cars that was already present, left, got the additional persons, half-an hour later, three persons, in attempt to hide from the cameras on the outside, entered the property from the car, fifteen minutes later, in a similar maneuver, another four persons entered the property. We were surprise at the obvious deception demonstrated by professional adults.
It is inexcusable and against human decency and respect for adults to behave in this manner. We, with the help of the police, rang the doorbell. The police explained that this is a private, gated community and gathering of this kind are a security risk. We asked Mrs. Bonaby, in the presents of the police, to have the other persons, by now, that have grown in excess of fourteen, to leave the townhouse and the premises. They refused to. A discussion ensued as to their rights. We waited until twelve in the morning for four persons to leave. There were ten other persons in the townhouse. We have started circulating this information to other properties in the surrounding area. Ensuring that property managers are aware of Mrs. Bonaby and her intentions.
Security cameras on the property are obvious and are there to protect the interest and security of our guests, our property and the surrounding community

Over all I feel this place was well worth it
Posted Feb. 19, 2019 on HotelsOk - Overall this place was nice and alot of bang for the buck. A few things could REALLY use improving on. The MAIN one is coming and going thru the security gate. Its VERY annoying to have to explain " I am renting unit #38 " constantly. Then you have to wait while the figure it out. a window sticker or something may alleviate this ? Also - the signs/notes all over the place are a bit ridiculous. "misuse of towels resulting in a fee" I dont even know what that means. Washing my car with them? Also the working regarding the air conditioning is a bit harsh. Maybe reword is to something like " in efforts to keep operating cost low and pass the savings onto out guests, please keep the AC off while not using the unit" . Over all I feel this place was well worth the money but a few minor tweaks may push it to the 5-star experience with a 3 Star price. I like that the door gets programmed to by the last 4 numbers of my phone number. Makes it easy to remember.

Thanks for the review. We love that you liked the place and what we offer. we really appreciate your feedback.
The Notes regarding the air condition and towels are there due to past experiences. We agree, it is not for all guests. We do, however, had guests in the past who have misuse the towels, resulting in repurchase and have left the air condition units on all the time, even while the unit is not occupied. We have had to be servicing the air condition due to past guests leaving the room doors open. Each unit cover a certain square footage. Overuse will lead to overworked and malfunction.
It is necessary to remind persons of these things. We, since the signs have been placed, have not had any issues with towels or air condition. It is a necessary precaution. Not just for saving electricity cost.
Again.. these may or may not, at all, apply to any guest but it is necessary for sanity. You would be surprise what guests do with the towels.
Thanks again. We will look into the security gate issue. We agree. A sticker would solve the problem.
Kindest Regards
Steve & Yolanda
