Publié le 8 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayGreat location and the home is better than pictures on listing. The ambiance was terrific! Stars, hot tub, and hummingbirds were fantastic! Lots of outdoor things to do on the property if you just want to stay home. Gurgling river puts you to sleep! Trails and hot springs close by, and only 20 mins from BV. One caveat, master bedroom is not air conditioned like rest of the house, but really didn’t need it as open windows and fans kept us plenty cool. The few issues we had were resolved quickly. Hosts are very, very kind and accommodating. They even lent us their own personal chairs for fishing! Enjoyed our stay!

Hi Sharon, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay. Just a note about air conditioning; not many houses have air conditioning in Chalk Creek, there isn't much of a need. The nights cool down and the windows open to create wonderful circulation through the house. So glad you came to visit, we'd love to host you again!

Nice place in a great location
Publié le 31 mai 2024 sur HomeAwayThe listing accurately reflects the rental. It is in a great location and we enjoyed the hot tub alongside the creek.
One thing to note - I would say this place is less pet friendly and more pet tolerable. They block off the master bedroom saying pets are not allowed in it, which is a bummer if you have your pet sleep in the same room. They also require you to cover all furniture if you bring pets but do not provide sheets to do so. And they require you to vacuum before departing despite making you pay both a cleaning fee and a pet fee.

Tess, thank you for the 5-Star review, we work hard to keep the place in tip top condition. We travel with our pet, so we understand the importance of finding a place where they are welcome. We always make sure there is no trace of our Belle being at the home. We give guidelines so we can continue to allow pets at Aspen Grove. I hope these guidelines did not inconvenience you too much. I am sure future renters will appreciate your consideration.

A piece of Heaven!

From the owners, Brent & Diana to the beautiful location nestled between 2 mountain ranges to the abundance of wildlife to the comfortable cabin. We travel Wyoming, Montana & Idaho several times a year but this trip was our favorite. Surrounded by beautiful mountains no matter where you travel around the area. Wildlife!!! Mule deer, antelope and elk galore. It starts with drinking coffee or your adult beverage on the porch and the local mule deer will definitely invite themselves to the party. Only feet away from you, presenting awesome opportunities for close up picture. If you want unmatched beauty that will provide plenty of rest, please contact Brent & Diana! Truly, our best vacation yet.

Mountain Paradise
Publié le 26 sept. 2023 sur HomeAwayThe location was perfect, and the backyard opened to a creek with a beautiful view. Deer around everywhere. We had everything we needed, and the host greeted us and took us on a little tour and was available for anything we might need. I would highly recommend!

wonderful cabin

Love the stream that runs behind it. sounds amazing through the night. The couple that run the location have always been so nice and helpful. Also, plenty of space to have our trailer and truck and also turn around.

Cool get a way
Publié le 29 août 2023 sur HomeAwayIt was great to get away from the Texas heat! We loved the patio and our guests the hummingbirds and the beauty of the mountains and forest. We spotted twin fawn with mom and dad mule deer. The house was quite comfortable and spacious. The kitchen could use more bake ware for casseroles and plastic containers with lids for leftovers. This is our 4th time in the Buena Vista area and it always is a memorable trip. Thank you for sharing this home!

Cute Little Home

A few things you might want to bring, extra towels, they provided one towel per person and a hand towel per bathroom. If you plan to bake anything in a baking dish, you might grab a disposable when you get groceries. Overall, great stay!

We could have gotten more towels for you; I leave extras in the drawers and on the shelf in the laundry room. There is a washer dryer for those times when you want to do laundry on vacation... :(
I am glad you brought this to my attention, I had a glass loaf pan, an 8.5x11 glass pan, and a cookie sheet in the cupboards or in the oven drawer. I will make sure they are still there. Please come again and next time just give a shout if you need anything, we love to make our guests happy and your stay a great memory!

Ultimate getaway
Publié le 13 juill. 2023 sur HomeAwayFirst of all, Brent and Diana are awesome managers, Fantastic cabin, great location, felt like home without all the stress, we will be back. Me, my wife and dog had a wonderful time exploring the mountain trails, hiking and off-roading, that are just right up the road. Tons of activities in nearby Buena Vista and Silida. A great week we will never forget. And I cant say enough how truly relaxing our stay was!

Nice location, house leaves a lot to be desired

The house is booked as a three bedroom, but when we went to the third bedroom in the basement, we were struck by an incredibly strong musty smell. No one wanted to sleep down there, so we had to share the two upstairs bedrooms. The mattress in the master bedroom was okay, but the mattress in the spare bedroom was rock hard.
These issues would have been somewhat acceptable if it hadn't been for the very high price we paid. With the amount we spent, we were expecting a clean, pleasant smelling house and comfortable beds. We talked to the renter about the smell in the basement and she said "it's a basement." I've been in many basements, and the smell in the basement of this house is extraordinarily bad.

We have investigated the bed that Sean J. was concerned about in the review, and we have asked other clients their opinion, none have found anything wrong with the beds? (Per Sean J. What happened was we wanted one of the kids to sleep in the basement) With 4 adults and 2 children probably not the best plan, normally the kids get the upstairs second master bedroom with a queen and two twin beds and is attached to the main bathroom. We use eco-friendly sanitizers and cleaning products that are not full of scented chemicals. I guess some guests prefer the scent of chemicals. This is a hard balance to keep and all guests until this review have given us and this procedure all 5-star reviews. As for the price it is set by the market and by the adjusted price of the platform. We wish Sean and his Family the best in life.
