Quiet and Secluded Cabin

Katie is a gracious host, answering questions before arrival and greeting us with a quick overview when we checked in. She and her husband Curt live in the house next door, but you would never know it. Nice to know they are close by in case something is needed.
The cabin is fully equipped, from the kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom and outdoors. Wi-Fi is fantastic, as no cell service was noted by us. Enjoyed a doe and her two fawns each evening around happy hour. Chalk Creek borders the back of the property and is very soothing.
Don't miss the nearby ghost town of St. Elmo or a leisurely hike along the Railroad Trail (starts just east of the Cascade Campground). If you like picnics, the Iron City Campground (St. Elmo) has nicely shaded tables along Chalk Creek.
We definitely recommend this property!

Quiet Mountain Cabin
Publié le 12 août 2024 sur HomeAwayWe absolutely loved our stay at the cabin in Nona's Woods! The rustic cabin is exactly what we were looking for and it was all we hoped it would be...and then some. It was quiet, close to the Chalk Creek, deep in the woods, lots of stars, cool temperatures at the Cabin's elevation. No light pollution at night so you can really get a great view of the stars and the Milkey Way. Many great hiking trails within the forest near the cabin plus a short drive to a historic mountain ghost town. We brought a lot of food with us and had most meals at the cabin which was great for our family of four adults. The outdoor grill came in very handy.
Our hosts were gracious, helpful, and kind. They were close when needed but gave us the space we needed to feel like we were home in their cabin! I can't say enough good things about our stay and experiences. I miss being there already. We will be back!

Fabulous Mountain Get Away

The cabin gives of a perfect mountain feel, secluded, quite other than for the sound of the river, with comfy beds and gorgeous views! Close to fishing, dog friendly and we even saw a moose! So happy we could bring our furry family members, it makes all the difference, and the hosts were on site, friendly and very helpful! Hoping we can come back someday!
